"Good Question"!

I really think this person just had a chip on her shoulder and what makes it worse is when she gets her co-workers back her up!! I'm sure you don't want to live here!

Come to AUSTIN, Texas  its more diverse

Yeah, I wish I knew if they could ask that or not, to know what to say. I know the thought of a sue really scared her!

I've heard that about Austin, more open minded. My husband was actually applying over there, sadly, he got Arlington TX first.

Just be safe in the knowledge that most people are fine and you will have no issues with them, but you will run into morons infrequently. Know how to counter them and life will be much easier (and satisfying!).

This is to be kept in mind. I'm trying to learn since for me it has also been very infrequent.

We visited San Antonio earlier this year.. That's also a nice place :)

I like the "Old School" look of it!

I sincerely doubt it! What are you going to say? No? I mean really! There is no rational reason for asking you. If it WASN'T yours (I'm not saying it wasn't, just for example) you wouldn't admit it anyway so there would be no point in asking the question except to insult you. As your own example, it would be like asking someone if the car they're driving is yours, if their hair is really theirs, if their clothes, credit cards... you name it.. was really theirs. It's implying you're a liar and a cheat. Not good.

Exactly! But if I was to say yes a million times they would still have to through the official sources to verify it and they would know the truth, so then, why ask?????? They shouldn't be allowed to verbally ask.

All they can do is ask you for documents that verify whatever status you're claiming, and your identity. For most people, that's a government issued ID.

The very idea of asking someone if their SSN is really their's is just ridiculous. If I did that, I'd EXPECT to be sued. Or fired.

I'm glad you stood up to her. Think how often she gets away with behaving that way, and people don't complain because they want the apartment.

Lol, now we're bringing sports into this :P

The spurs are a basketball team :)

Go Celtics, go! Haha

seriously though, I dont know that there is a law against verbal accusation of this sort..

But it certainly is not how one should conduct oneself in a professional environment.

I personally would have told them that they have just lost months of potential rent checks from me and cancelled my rental application!

This company just handed you a gold mine.

I wouldn't hesitate to hire legal counsel and sue the pants off them.

You could be quite comfortable the rest of your life.

Our journey together on this earth has come to an end.

I will see you one day again, my love.
