I have looked at several answers to this question on I-765 #11 "Have you ever before applied for employment authorization from USCIS?" I have a TN status that came from one of the Canada/US borders. Dose this TN card qualify for question #11? I don't think the borders are classified as USCIS offices, are they?

Moved from IR-1/CR-1 Process & Procedures to Adjustment of Status from Work, Student, & Tourist Visas (for now). A person in the IR/CR visa process would never fill out an I-765. OP, if this topic is not in the correct forum, please indicate the immigration benefit you are seeking so the topic can be moved to the correct forum.

September 10, 2011: Emailed AOS package
September 12, 2011: IV bill invoiced
September 13, 2011: Paid IV bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 14, 2011)
September 14, 2011: Emailed IV package
October 3, 2011: Emailed checklist response (checklist generated due to typo on Form DS-230)
October 6, 2011: Case complete at NVC
November 10, 2011: Interview - APPROVED!!!
December 7, 2011: POE - Sea-Tac Airport

September 17, 2013: Mailed I-751 to CSC

September 23, 2013: Received NOA1 in mail (receipt date September 19th)

October 16, 2013: Biometrics Appointment

January 28, 2014: Production of new Green Card ordered

February 3, 2014: New Green Card received; done with USCIS until fall of 2023*

December 18, 2023:  Filed I-90 to renew Green Card

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal

I think the question on form 1-765 refers only to having filed a previous i-765 either under the same category or under another category of eligibility.

I don't think having applied for work visas such as TN or H-1B is what they mean by question #11.

edited to add: The logic for my response is because if you answerred "yes" to this question, then you would have to include a copy front and back of your past EAD card.

Since you don't have a past EAD card you would answer "No".

You're right. It's asking about an application for a prior EAD. The question should probably read "Have you applied for a previous employment authorization document" instead of "employment authorization".
