Form 1-824??? NOA2 hardcopy. Please arrive

It's been 28 days and i haven't received the hardcopy of our NOA2. i called NVC today and i got my MNL# already and they said that they already forwarded the case to US embassy in manila on May 4th. The thing is I haven't received the NOA2 hardcopy yet. i only received the email notification and text on april 16. What am i going to do now? I would greatly appreciate your advice

I called USCiS after posting this topic and they told me to wait until wednesday May 16 and then call them again if i didn't receive it by wednesday. Sigh. They said the approval is valid for 4 mobths after approval date. So that means it will exoire on august 16.

if you don't get your hardcopy of NOA2 withing 30 days so you can call USCIS.

The approval "expiration" has nothing to do with you or you getting the notice. The expiration / validity is only for the NVC / US embassy. It is automatically extended when it reaches the US embassy.

I would suggest that you document all of your actions and contacts with USCIS about this apparent USCIS omission. If you do not get your Form I-797-NOA2 by the end of this week, you should send a letter to USCIS, the address is listed on your NOA1. In this letter describe the situation, your obvious concern, your attempts to remedy (with details), and your resistance to paying for a duplicate copy (as that you never received the first one). You will likely need your NOA2 notice later on in the AOS phase of your visa journey.This vintage thread describes a similar situation and possible remedies.

Quick question... Will they ask me to pay for the duplicate? Sigh. Some say they get a a congressman involved but i don't know what number to call. Please advise

You can call here, USCIS NCSC. Realize that this may not be a "simple phone call and it is corrected" situation. You may need to have written documentation now, that you contacted them and requested an appropriate remedy. They may try to have you pay for the duplicate, there was a price of USD$340 mentioned in the thread link I previously gave you. This is why your documentation is key to hopefully getting it done right the first time. I would suggest that you exhaust the reasonable methods (calling, writing USCIS) available to you for getting this resolved first, prior to trying to elicit congressional help.

Hopefully it will show up tomorrow. Okay, if not, call again tomorrow, respectfully ask to speak to a supervisor, be polite, but firm. Have your dates and call times all documented. All you want is your original NOA2 notice and not a $400 duplicate (due to their issue).

If they are unwilling or are unable to help you, write the the letter to USCIS, documenting your whole situation, dates, times, etc. , and your expected remedy. Follow this up with a call to your congressman's immigration affairs staff member (google for the address/phone #), and start down that path.

Do you have a hard copy of the email message from USCIS, advising you that your K-1 petition had been approved? Save that! Did you read that prior thread that I referenced for you? I believe there were postings where other folks in a similar situation provided a letter and all of their documentation attempts to get their original I-797 - NOA2, submitted that with the rest of items needed for the AOS step. I am not sure of their success. You do have some time, but I am sure that you only want your original document.

It would be nice if other VJers would also comment on this situation.

So yah, i got our MNL # already. But will the NVC send me a letter that they forwarded the case to US embassy manila? I haven't received any letter from NVC as well
