Hi to my fellow pinoys,

I'm flying from Philippines to US thru Delta airlines (economy). How many free checked bags allowed? I just wanna make sure so I know if I can still take some pasalubong Salamat po.

Hi newbie13 - I'd suggest that you go to the Delta Airlines website for accurate baggage information. Don't know when you're flying but I'd check it a second time right before you leave as the airlines are always changing their rules. Have a great trip!

Make sure to check any DOMESTIC flights in the US as well. The international tends to be different from the national flights in the US. So double check all flights you are on, don't just look at the international "leg" of the flight. Hope you have a great trip.

You get 2 free bags on international flights to Asia, and if its booked as a single ticket, this covers the domestic portions of the trip, too.

2 Free bags from Manila to anywhere in the U.S on Delta as long as you stay on Delta. Watch the weight of the bags as they can get you that way, look on the website but I believe its 50lbs each bag, of course converted to Kilo's... Check Delta.com to get all the accurate info than rely on us.. Have a great trip!!!!

Its still two bags. And 50 pounds and 62 inches is still their limit per their web site. Although I've never seen anyone at the airport pull out a tape measure to check the HxWxD dimensions.

I know with Cebu Pacific you can prepay the extra baggage when you book the flight and save some money. The domestic flights are so cheap in the Philippines, I don't mind the baggage fees so much.

thanks for all the response guys, i appreciate it!! i checked the website, iba rin pag may opinion from people who had experience, the first time i flew to US one bag lang kase yung dala ko.

BTW, my POE is at Detroit DWT, then my connecting flight pa. I'm a green card holder, so kelangan ko pa ba kumuha ng I-94 just like what I did nung K1 pa lang ako? Or ibang form na yung kelangan ko i fill up?? And kelangan ba check-in ulit yung baggage? (may carts ba doon sa tabi ng baggage carousel? May fee ba yun carts?) Pasensya na, ayoko kase magmukhang tanga sa airport, kapag kase crowded nalilito ako and nervous. Thank you po

I know with Cebu Pacific you can prepay the extra baggage when you book the flight and save some money. The domestic flights are so cheap in the Philippines, I don't mind the baggage fees so much.

Cebu Pacific makes more from baggages excess charge than they do on the flight.....

Yep, Air Phils did impose 1,800 PhP on me for having extra baggage when I made Manila connection to fly off 16 hours later with Delta. Best advice is to do pre-boarding addon, which can cost few or several peso/dollars less, with airlines online.

Have I opted to gone online and add (or subtract) the difference by weight those luggages and input my new numbed and pay it up, I could save $15 or so. Cebu Pacific has that feature to modify the baggage category: no checked bag, light, standard, or heavy; I don't know other domestic airlines.

By neglect doing the pre-board addon, there is a risk on being slap with hefty flat-fee by ticket agent at the check in at the terminal. One person had ignore my warning, and got slapped with "at-the-terminal" fee. Going online before enter a terminal there is big chance discount in doing so.

With Cebu Pacific, always pre-pay baggage fees on their website, You can even do that after your ticket is already bought. Much cheaper than paying cash at airport.
