Hi All,

I got back from work yesterday to find my daughters case touched, i also had this email from uscis:

Case Status

Receipt Number: MSC*******

Application Type: I485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status

Current Status:

The interview scheduled in this case has been canceled. You will be notified if the interview is rescheduled.

The problem i have is my daughters case was tranfered to CSC on 09/01/06 and an interview was never scheduled, so how can they cancel one which was never scheduled?

My question is, do i ignore the email or should i try to follow it up somehow

Many thanks for any advice

Ally

What online status message u get is right and true so still to remove ur doubt u better called uscis local office and satisfy urself. Plus u also saying that interview was never scheduled so u dont have to worry this means that u dont have any interview date right now and might there be a mistake from uscis but still to ease out u call the local office and comfirm

I agree, I also would call the local USCIS office to ask for advice. If you will get the confirmation that the email was an mistake from USCIS, you will be calmed... otherwise you will have nights with "no sleep" ;)

There could have been an interview scheduled but a notice not yet sent out. Then, the file was transferred to California - or they just realized that the file was transferred to California so cancelled the interview since the file is no longer with them. Others who have had interviews cancelled have been told the reason was that the file wasn't with the service center yet, but in your case I suspect it will be approved without an interview by California.

Yes, you can certainly call for confirmation that there is nothing more you need to do at this time, although you may or may not get a useful response from the mis-information line. If you do decide to call, ask to speak with an immigration officer rather than just with the call center representative who answers the phone.

Good luck. I don't think there is anything that you need to be worried about.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Hi Ally,

Well at least some action is going on with your daughter’s case not what you wanted but at least someone is doing something over there. I would definitely call them. If you are close to a D.O. and you have time because I know you just started your new job I would make an Infopass appointment to try and get some answers on your daughter’s case and on yours.

Good luck,

We received identical emails in March and April of this year. They always came in a series with the time only a few seconds apart. One time we got five for my wife, all within a couple of minutes. Another time we got three. Finally, we got three for my stepson, again, all generated within seconds of each other.

Since we had no interview scheduled we were as baffled as you are. We did have a prior interview that was scheduled and canceled but that had been 9 months earlier. We made an Infopass appointment and the person we talked to also had no clue what was going on.

There was eventually good news however. We had our interview in August and were approved.

Ally,

I guess Infopass is a waste of time then.

That would be my opinion. We made two infopass appointments during our 19 month wait to see if somebody could tell us why it was taking so long and how much longer it might be. The people we talked to were as clueless as we were. They just looked on the computer screen and told us the same thing we could see for ourselves and advised us to just be patient. We still don't know why it took so long and probably never will.

I would consider it a good sign about getting the emails though. It sounds like a computer glitch to me but at least it indicates there is some action taking place.
