I completely agree with life's journey. People in Europe tend to fraud less because they already have a very good quality of life. This has nothing to do with racism.

Also, but that's just a thought, maybe there are more approvals for people from 'rich' countries because both the petitioner and the applicant have money (and WVP) and therefore can spend more time with each other than those who can only see each other when the US husband/wife/fiance travels to that country, so the relationship might look more "serious" in the eyes of the US immigration officer (don't be mistaken, I am not saying these relationships are not serious, just the US officer might think that).

Please don't see racism everywhere.

your so full of ignorance, people in africa have alot of money, look at dagonte from nigeria he is worth 13.3 billion. africa has all the resources that europe stole so they can have the so called good lifestyle. bullshit. i make over 80k a year and i know alot of africans who make alot of money but they are still humiliated and treated like dogs at the embassy. i need to go the news paper with this

Madoff and Martha Stewart weern't applying for visas...what do they have to do with any of this? They are american citizens who committed federal crimes in the US. headbonk.gif

Fraud can be done anywhere, you are completely right, except you're forgetting the fact that there is more fraud in some countries than in others. This has nothing to do with racism.

oh so there is double standards for people from developed nations, that they cant commit fraud? LOOK AT MADOFF , MARTHA STEWART

that is a bunch of bull, if they have the same documentation the person from the developed nation has a higher chance of getting the visa than a person from a so CALLED third world country

this subject gets brought up in the PI forum from time to time. i really don't think there is a double standard or a higher requirement for visas for people from developing countries. life's journey nailed it. getting frustrated doesn't help. keep your chin up & keep at it. its worth it in the end.

martha and maddoff commited fraud.. the assumption is people from developed nations dont commit fraud hence less scrutiny from officials, oh boy are they wrong, develop nations commit higher fraud,. actually it is easier for them they dont have to apply for a visa they can just hope on a plane and be with their loved ones.

Yes exactly, it's like if you were saying: Mr. X commited murder in Great Britain, therefore there is imigration fraud and people shouldn't get visa approved!

WHY IS IT THAT CONSULATES IN THIRD WORLD COUNTRIES HAVE SUCH A DIFFICULT TIME GETTING VISAS, BUT IN EUROPEAN COUNTRIES THERE ARE NO PROBLEMS IN GETING FAMILY PETITIONS APPROVED? WE SHOULD ASK THAT QUESTION IS THERE DOUBLE STANDARDS? ARE THIRD WORLD COUNTRY CITIZENS NOT HUMAN BEINGS WORTHY OF TRUST? THERE SHOULD BE AN INVESTIGATION INTO THIS MATTER. TO SEE HOW MANY VISAS ARE APPROVED IN THIRD WORLD VS EUROPE?

I understand your anger. To say that race doesn't matter in our world is naive, there is such a thing as "white privilege". Visas still get approved regardless, but there are underlying prejudices for sure. It's a disservice to humanity as a whole, really, because there is only one race, the human race...

lol....good luck with that..none of the points you make here are valid. In developing countries the majority of people are underemployed or unemployed.

rasta,it is hard to follow your comments, everyone is quite aware that there are exceptions in every country, but the level of standard of living is not spread equally in developing countries.

your saying that the potential of fraud in third world is higher, not so, fraud can be done anywhere, madoff is just doing big fraud,

The record of documented fraud for US immigration purposes is greater in some parts of the world than others. If you are unlucky enough to be from one of those countries then you are paying for the sins of those that came before you.

As far as immigration goes, your energies would be better spent making sure that you and your fiance(e) have a well prepared petition package than lashing out Madoff and other financial schemers.

as i stated before..hey were not applying for visas..you are comparing apples to oranges. if they were to go thru the visa process they would be denied just like anyone else who committed crimes of fraud

Do not think this way. It's not because one guy in the US is committing fraud that there is generalized fraud in the US, and it's not because one guy in Kenya for example is a billionaire that everyone is rich in Kenya. Look at trends, not particular cases.
