Timeline

Well today I finally received my Perminant residency card in the mail. Almost one year to the day from when we first started the whole K1 process, i can finally say its over! For two years Atleast.. What a relief.


K1 Timeline:

30/05/11 I-129F Sent

06/06/11 NOA1 Recieved

15/07/11 Filed for Police Certificate

16/09/11 NOA2 Recieved

28/09/11 NVC Sent application to Sydney Consulate

06/10/11 Received Packet 3 from Sydney Consulate

30/10/11 Medical Exam

30/10/11 Sent Packet 3

15/11/11 Received Packet 4

29/11/11 Interview/Approval

09/12/11 Visa in hand

10/12/11 POE, LAX

16/12/11 Married

AOS Timeline

02/01/12 Sent AOS Packet

06/01/12 NOA1

13/01/12 Biometrics Appt Notice

17/01/12 Biometrics Walk-in

29/02/12 EAD/AP Aprroved, Card Production Ordered

01/03/12 Request for 'Green Card' interview

09/03/12 EAP/AP Combo Card In Hand

04/04/12 Perminant Residency interview

05/04/12 Perminant Residency approval via mail

02/05/12 Green Card In Hand

This process took us about year, it was very stressfull at times but well worth it.

August 16, 2010 - Sent the K-1 Petition to Dallas Lockbox
March 23, 2011 - Interview at 8am (Passed) Praise the Lord!
September 9, 2011 - POE at LAX
October 22, 2011 - Civil Wedding

December 9, 2011 - Sent AOS/EAD/AP
December 15, 2011 - Received NOA1 by Email and SMS, Check Cashed, Petitions Routed to NBC
December 22, 2011 - Received Hard Copy of NOA1 dated December 15, 2011
December 23, 2011 - Received Biometrics Appointment Letter dated December 20, 2011
January 9, 2012 - Biometrics Appointment at 3 pm (Done); Received Email of AOS transfer
January 13, 2012 - Received Mail that AOS has been transferred to CSC dated January 9, 2012
January 14, 2012 - Received Email from CSC that AOS was received and started the process; AOS touched
February 6, 2012 - Received Email that EAD was on card production (59 days)
February 13, 2012 - Received EAD/AP Combo Card Yeayyy!! (66 days)
February 14, 2012 - Applied SSN
February 18, 2012 - Received SSN
August 13, 2012 - Received RFE Letter for Incomplete I-485
August 14, 2012 - Sent RFE Reply
September 13, 2012 - GC Approved
September 19, 2012 - GC Received

ROC Journey

August 20, 2014 - Sent ROC

August 23, 2014 - ROC Received at VSC

August 27, 2014 - Check cashed

August 28, 2014 - Received NOA1 dated August 25, 2014

September 10, 2014 - Received Biometrics Appointment Letter for September 22, 2014.

February 27, 2015 - Received Email and SMS that GC got approved

Congrats!! :D Don't forget to start collecting all the relationship stuff and putting it aside. Like bills etc.

Finally time for AOS.......

12/07/11 Sent AOS package

12/09/11 AOS package delivered

12/14/11 Received NOA for I-485 and I-765 (we're not applying for AP)

12/22/11 Received letter for Biometrics

01/04/12 Biometrics in Phoenix

01/31/12 Received email update from USCIS saying that we've been scheduled for an interview

02/03/12 Got an email saying card production had been ordered for my EAD...now just to wait for the card...

02/09/12 Received email saying EAD card has been sent

02/13/12 Received EAD card :D :D :D :D

03/06/12 Interview in Phoenix :).....Approved :D

03/14/12 Received Green card in mail.....

....no more USCIS until December 2013

Rough Timeline
(I'm terrible with dates)


  • Met online May 2008
  • Began dating August 2010
  • Met face to face July 2011
  • Became engaged October 2011
  • Filed Petition for Fiancé Visa October 2011
  • Approved case forward to Sydney Consulate February 2012 (with the wrong email address- caused a lot of stress trying fix)
  • Packet 3 sent to Consulate April 11 2012
  • Interview date sent back on April 18 2012 (according to them. I had to email to find out, which I got a reply to on April 26)
  • Interview scheduled for May 15 2012
  • Interview on May 15 2012: VISA APPROVED
  • Visa arrived in hand May 21 2012
  • Hopeful wedding date: July 7
  • Married July 7
  • Filed for AOS several days later
  • April 29, 2013: Immigration requested additional evidence (my medical)
