Work Visa to Spousal Visa - Help please!

Hi all,

I am so confused about the US immigration process and wondered if anyone could advise. I am an American citizen. My fiance is Belgian, and we currently live in the UK. We have plans to marry next week here in the UK! :) We were originally planning on settling here for the next few years. However, my partner has received an offer to work in the NY office of his firm, which he will accept, and thus, we plan to move back to the US in June. His company is arranging an intra office transfer and doing all of the necessary immigration paperwork for him.

I am assuming that once he is in the US, we should apply for a spousal visa for him? Do I just go through the regular route to get this done, or will there be a difference because he will have to switch out of the work visa category and into a spousal one? Does this make his case more complicated in any way?

Any help would be great.

Thanks!!
