Hi,

My application is at the consulate in Vancouver and I have a case #. However, my address has changed so it will take a while for it to get to Windsor. I'd like to get the medical exam taken care of so that it will be finished when the forms finally arrive here. I contacted the doctor here who does medicals and she says that you have to get in contact with the consulate in Toronto and then they assign you a doctor/time. Does anybody know the procedure and tel #?

Thanks!

I live about 40 minutes from Windsor, Ontario and this is where I went for mine (it's the nearest one- Toronto is 4 hours away). You call that number and leave a message (name and phone number) and they call you back so that you can get an appointment set up.

I had mine in Windsor as well 2 1/2 years ago but I made my own appointment. The Consulate in Toronto shouldn't have anything to do with it. The office probably felt you were inquiring about medicals for a different visa type. You do need your form from the Consulate in Vancouver as it has your file number and other information that the doctor needs. You will probably have to wait for that. I saw a female doctor as well - not the Seiden group one, although I don't recall her name. I had the medical then had to go back and pick up the results the following week. You can also get your security check done at the RCMP office in Windsor (east end down off of Riverside Dr., I believe). They do that while you wait. Again your information packet will have a form you can show them tellilng them what type of security check you need. (I am assuming you just relocated from out west as your application is in Vancouver. Ontario applications are sent to Montreal. Toronto has nothing to do with K-1 visas).

Karly, I used to live in Chatham, Ontario - about an hour's drive from Windsor. Where do you live?

Thanks for all your responses! One thing I don't understand is why you can't just go across to the Detroit side and have the physical done by a USCIS approved doctor for a much cheaper price. As Canadians we are allowed into the States for 6 months...just curious. Thanks again!

Because you're dealing with two different branches of government...(they even fill out completely different physical forms)

And it isn't cheaper at all... about the same price....

You have to deal with State Dept. approved physicians for the consulate and USCIS approved physicians for the USCIS.

My wife went to Dr. Penava... A few pieces of advice..

1) Even though they give you an appointment time.. it's first come first served. So get there when they open (6 or 7am I believe)

2) Bring your immunization records with you.. if you have some missing, get them done ahead of time...
