HOLA!! YAY! SOOO happy! :)

Just got NOA2 from CSC after 134 days!

Now hoping the rest of the process will fly by smoothly so we can be together soon!

Does anyone have opinions (good or bad) on using the US Postal Service to mail internationally? Should I try it, or should I pay the 200$ and go with FedEx? (Might as well buy a plane ticket for a few hundred more and fly it there myself though :) ...too bad its not that easy :( !!)

Thanks!

All depends on the postal service in her country. Once it leaves the USA, the USPS disavows any knowledge of a package's existence. Personally with how much is riding on it, I sent everything via Fedex. How long do you wish to be delayed if it doesn't get there or gets lost?

Congrats on the NOA2!

Have you seriously waited until you got the NOA2 to send anything to your fiance?

We used the regular mail for everything going there and had an awesome VJ friend that once hand carried certain documents back to us. The only thing I had to send last minute was my tax documents because the new year happened and we got the NOA2 in the end of January. He had last years tax documents WHEN WE FILED.

What are you waiting for? How long did it take your Valentine's card or Christmas card or any of the love letters that you sent to get there?

Edited to add:

From the time of the NOA2 to the interview for us was 2 months. If regular mail doesn't get there in 30 days, you can always send them DHL or Fed-Ex then.

I have had no problems USPS to Ukraine, documents or gifts. For documents rates start at $30 for express international (at about 5-6 day delivery). They also have faster service for more $$$. Not sure about your country...? The package is tracked as well, at least through customs. It is signiture required.

EminTX - Yes, I have seriously waited until receiving the NOA2 before sending the interview documents to my fiance...

For many reasons actually...

First - I wanted to be the one who organizes it completely as to make sure everything is included and nothing was misplaced while waiting...

Second - Obviously I didnt know when i would receive the NOA2, and wanted to be sure that all my information (paystubs, taxes, dates on signed forms) were up to date at the time of sending!

Thirdly - Since I knew I was going to be mailing last minute documents (2011 taxes, updated chat/call logs)anyway, I saw no reason to spend more money to mail things seperately, and thought it best that I send everything after NOA2, all together.

Also, he was working on a Cruise Ship during most of this process, and my letters and cards were mailed there...not to his home country, which is why Im not sure of the reliability of the mail system in Nicaragua.

Good job, congratulations.

USPS Express to overseas has never failed me. BUT, it also depends on the service in your own country. GOOD LUCK with the rest of your journey!
