the second interview for k1 is random I think.

I have nothing in my case that would trigger a second interview.

In fact, in Singapore, the woman interviewing me actually said, "its nice to have a straightforward case for once"

It is quite common.

yeah, it's pretty random. I think it depends a lot on your local service center. if they're really busy then you probably won't get an interview unless something is up with your case

Finally time for AOS.......

12/07/11 Sent AOS package

12/09/11 AOS package delivered

12/14/11 Received NOA for I-485 and I-765 (we're not applying for AP)

12/22/11 Received letter for Biometrics

01/04/12 Biometrics in Phoenix

01/31/12 Received email update from USCIS saying that we've been scheduled for an interview

02/03/12 Got an email saying card production had been ordered for my EAD...now just to wait for the card...

02/09/12 Received email saying EAD card has been sent

02/13/12 Received EAD card :D :D :D :D

03/06/12 Interview in Phoenix :).....Approved :D

03/14/12 Received Green card in mail.....

....no more USCIS until December 2013

  • 4 weeks later...

I read the post here and in some cases it took 1 day and in other cases it took a few weeks to get approved, stick with the good feeling that you had B-)

Sooo...I waited three weeks with nothing, and couldn't wait any longer, so I called USCIS this past Wednesday. I was advised that they would contact the field office, and if I don't hear anything in 15 days to contact them back. Friday afternoon, I got an email that I am approved!! However, I'm still waiting for the site to update to "card production". Anyone know how long that takes? I'm not trying to be impatient, but I have had to contact them about each step, and it seems like every single time something happens within a day or two. I can't help but wonder if I just keep falling through the cracks every time, and me asking for information during each step is the only reason things are happening?

The site may never be updated. One well-known member here (Gary) will tell you that his wife has already become a citizen while the website still says that their initial petition is processing.

Congratulations on your approval, si man! :)

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Ok, thanks! Sometimes I don't understand the point in having the information available via the website because it doesn't get updated half the time, but oh well.

Thank you :)

I had my interview last Apr. 20, 2012 at the Santa Ana, CA branch. Questioning went well but was not approved on the spot. IO gave us a white paper with a check on "Additional documents needed". What does this mean? We showed her all the things she needed. I will just send her again whatever we brought in during the interview.

How long do you think they will process it? Also, do you think they will do a house visit? Does anyone got interviewed at Santa Ana, CA got a house visit? Please help!
