Have you ever heard of a situation where a person (out of jealousy) wanted to ruin a person's Embassy plans? They send letters to the Embassy with false allegations regarding the Petitioner; with the intent to cause "red flags" that can result to a denial of his/her VISA. How would the USCIS handle such a situation?

Unfortunately it does happen. This was something that I was afraid of with my then fiance. I encourage anyone from small town keep your business to YOURSELF! It can be excited know that someone is coming to America but there will always be people who with attempt to derail one's happiness. I don't know how such issues will be handled by the embassy, I'm sure that others will provide insight. All the best.

I have heard of it, I have never heard it having any effect, no tto say it couldn;t but it does not seem to be something that has come up. Why would you give information to anyone that hates you?

Best plan? Keep your mouth shut until the visa is in your hand.

Yes I have heard of this and actually went through it recently. What I did first was talk with USCIS about the "threat". The person I spoke with told me that USCIS receives calls, letters and emails every day from ex-spouses and others attempting to derail the petitioners petition with numerous allegations against the petitioner or beneficiary.. She told me that they ignore all of that correspondence because the person sending it has no authority with the petition. She also shared with me that a caller could allege marriage or immigration fraud in which case the allegation would be sent to ICE for investigation. She shared with me that unless the allegation had a reasonable basis for immigration fraud that ICE would ignore it as well. I called ICE and they basically confirmed what I had been told.

The person that I spoke with at the US Embassy in Manila gave me the same answer....that they receive these type of calls everyday but they ignore them because the caller has no authority with the petition.

My advice...call them for yourself and listen to what they say.

That is good to know, it does say on the fraud sheet that was posted up, tip call/letter are an indicator. I was worried about this too, a little because i come from a town where everyone is in everyone's business and ive heard of people doing similar things. It only takes one nasty person to be jealous enough to try anything. Focus on positivity and let go of thinking about the negative possibilities and all should be fine.. I try to apply that to all areas of life these days!

USCIS has nothing to do with operations at an Embassy or Consulate; the State Department overseas Embassy/Consulate operations while the US Department of Homeland Security overseas USCIS operations.

I was at one point about to inform the embassy about my cousin and her process. She was trying to pull a scam but the whole relationship fell apart after the interview process and I kinda saw it coming.

An anonymous tip can't ruin the whole interview, but can make it harder. Makes the CO ask questions they usually don't ask or put you in AP or contact the family members to compare stories

They have and they continue to do so. In my previous marriage to a Filipina (22 years), I went through a complete nightmare. My ex's father was a US Merchant Mariner. He was naturalized. During his leaves he would visit my ex mother-in-law. They had 5 kids together. They were subsequently divorced in an American court. My ex was a US Citizen by birth to a US Citizen. After being a US citizen for 15 years somebody from her family gave information to the US Embassy that her father could not have conceived her and her siblings. We discovered this when she tried to renew her US Passport. I went around and around with the Chicago Division of the US State Department. So, I had to adjust her status to get her and our four kids green cards. A word of very sound advice. DO NOT ANNOUNCE your every move to everybody you know!!! Especially from the Philippines!!!!!! People carry big grudges. It only takes one apple to spoil it all. It happened to me and it happens every day in other countries. Beware of broadcasting your future, for others may want to change your plans without your knowledge.

Wow! I didn't know people could really be that evil. It's funny that this came up because my son was just telling me that I should keep the noa2 under wraps for a while, but it was too late. I was so excited about it. I guess mum's the word from now on until my fiance gets here.

That don't make since, because the Gov't go by evidence... Perhaps something was not right with the birth certificate. Anybody can say someone is the the biological parent of a child, but evidence is what they take action on, right?
