Follow your gut (life experiences, training, your heart), if you have questions visit again and discuss this with family. You are correct to establish a relationship in USA before kids, get to know each other before life get too complicated.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

1-Every relationship is different, you can only judge based on yours alone

2-The divorce rate between US citizens and immigrants is about half that of 2 US citizens, so even though there are horror stories, there are a lot more success stories

3-I would suggest that ANY red flag early in the relationship is major. You aren't seeing any, which is great (neither am I, and I'm so excited for my fiancee to be approved). But any red flag early, no matter how small, is more than likely to turn into something big down the road. Not that it would be a showstopper, just be cautious.

4-It is very normal to have cold feet. I read the horror stories too, and I get a little freaked. Just don't let them overwhelm what you feel is right.

Good luck. And be prepared for a journey, it's not for the faint of heart but we all get through it.

Thanks,

I know that's its going to be a long journey and I miss him like crazy but it's expensive to keep going there. My heart and head both tell me that he's a good person that has good intentions. When I first heard about "sankies" right after I met him.and he assured me that he wasn't one of them. And so far, he hasn't given me a reason to distrust him. Next month will be our one year anniversary.

I am going to take a guess that by posts you are talking about FB. ...sometimes its a bane. As others have said, just keep an eye out for red flags. Both I, as the petitioner, and her as the beneficiary, there have been situations where we thought the other might not be ready. It happens. I am considered young for the men that start I-129F for the women in the beneficiary's country, by about 30 years. I'll admit that some jokes on FB that she can see may seem like flirting. But I will stand by her. With her, being young and leaving friends and family I was scared. There was something she said along the lines of not knowing what she wants to do in the future that made me scared as well. I just know that never asking for money from me was a big thing to know where her intentions really were. Take what you can from this

Awww you poor thing!!! Only you know your fiance and what you have together. Definitely make sure you really feel like you're doing the right thing. I have been with mine for 8 years in June so I am a success story! We are at the end of the k-1 Visa process but we have lived together for almost 6 years so we already know what its like to live together and I would say we are a success. Follow your heart and your conscience. I always think it's someone you should know well. A lot of these stories you hear are from people that just met this person once or twice.

Let God guide you and you'll find the answers and some might be the ones we hear but we ignore. Either way it's life, it's beautiful no matter how you look at it... If you are doing this for genuine love... God will not punish you for that... he sees your heart and you will be rewarded with this person or maybe better if (God forbid) something went wrong. Good Luck and I hope it's everything you hope for! smile.gif

I sent my packet for my fiance off Monday. I live in Louisiana so I sent it to the Texas Service Center. He lives in the Dominican Republic. I know that he loves me but reading some of posts scare me and I am starting to second guess starting this process. Are there any success stories with true love and what should I expect?

Can I just caution you that when you read post, remember its there story. Even if there are post that warn you. Otherwise you will start internalizing everything and second guessing yourself and thats not good.

Just hold on to all the WHY's you want to be with your hunni. And you will weather through it all. Thats what so great about VJ here. You will find many friends. People from same country as your husbands that can tell you the in's and outs specific to his country (so helpful trust me).

So buckle up, smile laugh get a hobby and d have fun. Soon you will be the VJ expert people turn to.

Look, dont look at others people life. not everybody is the same enjoy your love , trust is the most important thing in a relationship is ok to be nervous at the bigining of the paper work ... dont worry if for some reason is fake the love you will see sings or things that will let you know .. until them enjoy your love life, be positive and dont keep bad thing in your head that will be worse . as far as i know in this web family people have more happy endings . :D

I thought that Louisiana applicants were supposed to send them to Texas?

The address as to where to send the I-129F is on the form itself, its the Texas Lockbox, there are two addressed one for if you mail it and the second if you send it Fedex or such.
