My fiance received our first NOA1 hard copy dated February 20, 2012 with my (beneficiary) misspelled name.

He called immediately to correct it after receiveing

and they said to wait for 30 days for the corrected copy.

He received the new NOA1 with the correct spelling of my name dated March 14, 2012.

Does that mean that's our NOA1 date and we should count the days of processing from there?

So the almost 1 month of waiting doesn't count?

I would say no also... and hopefully the mistake moved up your file from the insurmountable file of the person who is handling it (it's just my vivid imagination that the tables of the USCIS personnels are laden with piles and piles of paperwork), cross your fingers! :D

You are lucky as far as the website is concern. We received our NOA1 on 1-12-2012 and still from that day can not get a status update on our receipt number.

01/09/2012 - Sent to TSC

01/10/2012 - Received by TSC, transferred to VSC

01/13/2012 - check cleared bank and email from USCIS

01/17/2012 - NOA from VSC Receipt # notice no case #

=] yeah I had the same thought too!

And they sent the mail less than 30 days.

I really hope it didn't make any negative effects on the process.
