Pakistani filers - Marriage certificate queries

Salaam...

My questions are about my marriage certificate.

1. My marriage certificate/Nikahnama is originally in English. The Imam who solemnized our Nikah brought the Nikahnama papers and they were all in English. Is that okay? I read somewhere they ask for the Urdu one but ours was already primarily in English. Should I get an Urdu translation? :S

2. I've heard that computerized nikahnama's are now being introduced. Do I have to get mine too? Did any recent NVC/interview filer have any experience with it?

we got married at end of April 2011

we had both Urdu and English completed and then provided to us...and filed both with the I-130

This is first time i am hearing of a computerized Nikah Nama

NOA1 August 3 2011
NOA2 April 14 2012
NVC receipt May 17 2012

Case upgrade request sent via email April 3 2013

Case upgraded by NVC from F2A to CR1 April 19 2013

Interview June 6th 2013 - APPROVED - case upgraded to IR1 at time of interview based on time married

Visa in hand June 10th 2013

IV fee paid using ELIS June 17th 2013

POE Houston July 15th 2013

GC arrived in mail Aug 12th 2013

SSN card arrived in mail Aug 19 2013 (1 week after applying)

Regarding #2, I think you might be referring to the 'Registration' which is computerized. I submitted it along with my Nikahnama. The more proof, the better in my opinion.

07/25/12 - AOS bill appears as PAID, IV bill appears as PAID, AOS Package sent, IV Package sent

08/01/12 - AOS/I-864 accepted, Checklist Issued for DS-230

By computerized do you mean "nadra" wala nikah Nama ? I will highly recommend to get birth certificate and nikah Nama from nadra . Sorry can't say much about the first question

  • Medical Done- DEC 31,2011 (Lahpre wilshire hospital)

My original nikkah nama is in Urdu and translated it through Notary Public. This is first time I am hearing about primary nikkah nama in English language.

11/19/2011: I-130 Sent

05/07/2012: NVC received

05/30/2012: Called NVC to receive Case # & IIN

XX/XX/2012: AOS Receipt Paid

XX/XX/2012: DS-3032 acceptance e-mail received

XX/XX/2012: IV bill invoiced; IV bill

yes my nikkah nama was in english and they sent me and RFE and i just simply sent them a letter explaining that IS the original and they said they need 14 business days for a supervisor to look at it, but after they received my letter the case was closed in 5 days. Its done pretty quick. I suggest that you send a letter with your nikah nama stating THAT is the original bearing all the original stamps and seals, not a translation. Good luck!

Nikkah Nama only used to be in Urdu in old times but these days it is available in English.

I got married in December 2011, we signed both Urdu and English Nikkah Nama with Nikkah Registrar's seal & signature. Also Union Council seal.

You can also get the Computerized Marriage Registration Certificate from NADRA (issued by Union Council) when you register your marriage with them. This certificate is in Urdu/English on same page.

RFE: 08/13/2012 "Proof of Bona Fide marital relationship". (Took them 7 months, 1 week and 4 days to send an RFE).

IV Package Received at NVC: 12/03/2012

EMBASSY STAGE:
interview March 20, 2013 : results AP (sent in paperwork for co-sponsor received 4-20-2013)

Issued: September 30, 2013

POE: Raleigh-Durham International Airport, NC @ 10-17-2013 (Easy entry, pleasant experience).

Removal of Conditions on Residence:

Filed: August 14, 2015 - VSC

NOA1: 08/19/2015

Date of Decision: 06-03-2013

Letter of Approval received: 06-09-2016

Green Card received: 07-15-2016

Naturlization N-400:

Filed: September 16, 2019

Biometrics: October 9, 2019

Interview: August 24, 2020

Approval: Approved and received Naturalization Certificate same day.
