EAD - fee and recommendations

Hello,

I am on a K-1 visa and I am from the UK. I am filing my AOS and would love to have some light shed on the EAD. I am dying to get back to work, I have come to the US and I love it but feel like a baby being unable to work. It's very frustrating. That said, if I file the EAD with the AOS do I still have to pay the fee?

It all seems to cost alot. Will it get through to me in time before the green card? Please could you recommend a solution. I love the guides here but it would be nice to hear from fellow people going through the same thing.

Filing the I-765 (EAD) and I-131 (AP) does not cost if filed with or after the I-485 (AOS). The EAD may or may not arrive before the GC. Typically it does, but there are cases where the GC is approed and sent before the EAD. You can begin working after receiving either the EAD or GC. Our AOS process took 46 days for the EAD and 91 days for the GC to arrive. Interview was at day 89. This was last May in Denver, so your timeline will be different. All you can do is file everything and then wait.
