Husband growning impatient with the process

My husband and I have been apart for 7 months, I-130 received Sept 14, still no NOA2 and my husband is growing very impatient. We have our lives on hold until we proceed with this process...there are days I'm not sure we are going to make it thru this ordeal, especially with USCIS being so far behind. Anyone out there dealing with the same situation?

I agree with Pushbrk, everyone on VJ will be, going to, or has gone through what you are going through. It is just part of this Visa process. No matter how quick we want it to be over, it will be in time. My husband and I were separated for 3 years before finally being together again. The best thing(s) to do is to stay prayerful, keep busy, and research and continue to gather all documentation needed.

Good Luck <<HUGS>>

Toni

I agree completely!

I sit and read the good and the bad and cry with either one. I can't wait to feel that excitement and the knowledge that another step is behind us but it is so hard to keep it together some days. Today is one and I am on the verge of tears at any given moment. I just want to go home from work but of course, can't. Trying to keep a stiff upper lip but man it's hard!

This makes me want to cry :( Just take some deep breaths and remember how much love you two have for one another and why you are doing all this. All of our timelines are different and I was so ready to give up so many times... but you have to be strong for yourself and most importantly for your loved one!

YES!!!!!!!!!!!! My fiancee and I met Dec 15 2009 and because he s american and im canadian we to have been seperated alot since we met and we are again.I had to come back to Canada in Dec 2011 and Im not allowed to go back untill April..I was told by our immigration lawyer I have to wait for 90 days because of that..and we are both having a very hard time as well because we love each other and we just wanna be together...Our lawyer had suggested that as soon as Im back we get married then he will file for a K-3 visa and thats exactly what were doing ..we set the date for the 2nd of June 2012...I just hope that my going through customs goes smoothly this is why our lawyer said I had to wait for 90 days just to make sure....God I cant wait to get back and marry him UGH!!!!!

Both of you are lucky in that it's a short distance to Canada, and he, as an American can cross over as many times as he wishes, and cheaply too. I don't know how many people here can say the same. Cost of Airfare alone is a deterrent for multiple visits to see their spouse. You guys can see each other every month if you so wished.

All in all, I am happy for you. Best wishes on your journey.

Is visiting him an option? I know it's costly but I would rather spend the money and keep my relationship healthy and strong than wait for it to fall apart over time.

It's hard and certainly not anything anyone who chose but likes others have said, the end result is very much worth the wait. Someone always has it worse. Praying for you both to have the strength to make it through this.

The problem is you put your life "on hold." The majority of people on here seem to obsess over their paperwork when they could be doing something far more healthy. You and your husband need to find something else to do while waiting for approval, or else you'll turn into a basket case.

Gervl you are so right about that. I know I am obsessing over this paperwork. I can now finally file and will in the next 2 weeks I pray. Than I know its bite my nails and wait time. But I am ready and so is my husband.

To ChristinaSangar you must not give up hope. There will be days you will fuss and argue or you will feel alone. But that's when you can come to these pages and find a friend to talk to. Its not all about Visa forms and Petitions we are here to elevate, educate and lift each other up and hopefully put out a hand and help,

Alot falls on the USC shoulders mentally, physically and financially. We are usually the ones getting all this evidence together running here and there and trying to find out all we can. It can be quite exhausting. But just keep the faith and trust in your love. And talk to your husband discuss your fears. I am sure he has them too. Remember with LD relationships its about communication.

Your lawyer is suggesting immigration fraud. Moving back to the US with the intent to get married is considered fraud. I wouldn't do it.

True Love at Last and Gervl have made excellent points.

Everyone going through this process has to deal with the wait and the distance. And everyone gets through it in a different way. You have no control over this process, but you do have some control over how often you guys can see each other. If it's been that long, then maybe you should consider going to spend some quality time with him. Not only are visits good evidence of your relationship during your interview, but they're also very important for the relationship itself.

Like pushbrk said, use this time to prepare for the next steps. Being prepared will help you avoid delays. Also, you may want to start thinking about the things you need to prepare in advance for his arrival. Your husband should also use this time to prepare himself for his life here. There are so many things to think about and prepare for that should help to get your mind off of being apart. That's not to say that you're never going to think about it, but you might not think about it as much as you do now. The only thing that's really going to get your mind off of not being with your husband, is actually being with your husband. And the only way that's possible right now is to visit.

You are right about that bigdog...

Fortunately for me and my babe, I get to see her this April, thank the God in Heaven, I have good fortune to be able to do that, I haven't seen her since Dec 18, 2011. I could visit more, every 6 to 8 weeks or so, but I am stacking cash and vacation time for when she hopefully arrives later this year, that way I can take time off to go to the interview with her, take a week off work when she arrives to the US and we can take more time off for Thanksgiving and Christmas Seasons, we can furnish the crib, make it our marital home, have cash to get her engaged in US Society etc..

My God people! Have some compassion! She's just having a down moment and has turned to the only other source of support she can get for encouragement. Instead she gets opinions and "who's situation is worse" comments. What's the point in having an online community for support if you CAN'T SUPPORT!?

Relax sister. We know what you are going through. Yes, there are worse scenarios out there, but it doesn't make it easier does it? We just take it day by day and know that in the end this will all be a grand story we can tell our grandchildren one day. Right now we dream of just the next time we can talk, but soon we will be rewarded with waking up every morning by their side. We won't have to worry about how much longer we can keep our eyes open while chatting till the wee hours of the morning. Instead we will be holding them tightly as we lay together. My biggest fear is she doesn't get tired of me when I'm available to her every minute of every day. LOL.

All we can do is relish in the fact that we DO have each other and we WILL be together soon. Hang in there! It will all be just a memory soon ;)
