Don't lose hope Rozi.

Have you done everything you can?

Have you contacted your congressman?

Senator?

Email embassy or call DOS every week or everyday

Do not give up. It is a long wait and it feels unfair but you are not alone.

Hang in there and just do everything in your power to make sure they do not forget that you want the visa

May 24, 2011 NOA1

Sept 11, 2011 NOA2-took 19 days to get case number

Sept 30, 2011 NVC number and IIN received Friday-gotta wait till Monday

Oct 13, 2011 Case Completed- 13 days from receiving case number Took 32 days from NOA2

Nov 30, 2011 Notified of Interview date

January 19, 2012 Interview- 240 days from NOA1

INTERVIEW RESULTS-APPROVED WITH 14 WEEKS AP--but he got his visa in 56 days!!!!!!

I hope you do get your Visa, and soon. When my fiancee was put in AP, I thought it was only going to be for TWO weeks like the CO said but we've been in AP for TEN months already. So, I understand what you may be going through. Hang in there and keep praying. If you can't get a reply from your embassy, try calling the NVC @ (202)663-1225 option 1, then option 0. Have ur case # ready.

Good Luck!

What have you done in 10 months to try and get information on your case?

Is it name checks?

Is it at the embassy? and they are investigating the relationship? Did they ask for more proof?

Good Luck and I am sorry you have waited so long

Hi Rozi, I quoted Janice and Ben about them in AP for 10 months now.

DOS told me background checks ordered Jan 19th on the date of his interiew.

DOS told me 29 days later that someone was finally actively working on it

DOS told me all papers are in and waiting to be reviewed.

I think they are just sitting on his file....

Hi, sorry I've been busy at work. My Congressman AND Senator have both written to the embassy and gotten the same reply which is just a lengthy version of what we get. I made a trip to Cameroon last September and went to the embassy to try to talk to the CO but the guy at the window won't even let us see her, saying that nothing was needed from us at that time. I just don't see how it takes more than ten months to validate a relationship or any documents submitted.

Thanks and good luck to us all.

Rozi (and probably togetherforever13 and may be few others)

After spending some of my painful and frustrating time on this site I realized one thing and I guess well all need to understand/accept that in situations like these, there is no Standard for Sure thing. I am sure some of you already figured that out as well. I remember sometime ago togetherforever13 was suggesting that asking specific questions MAY (keep in mind MAY) give you a better answer. However that is simply a possibility and the same questions could work like magic for some and backfire on some, some might get an answer some might get yelled at. What we can learn from this site is gather/collect as much information as you can on many of the possibilities, use/implement them, and pray for a positive outcome. To give you an example, my experience with USCIS was bitter, but DOS was really sweet, where as someone will say something completely opposite. The lady I spoke with (while my case was with DOS) not only gave me answers rather went beyond her way and gave me information that I would never know. Similarly, just because something worked for some doesn't make it a standard. Someone or a Senator/Congress person got a cold shoulder by the embassy does not mean you will have the same response. So wait till you hit the 5 months mark and then start contacting your Senators. Reach out to both Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand in every possible way. Mail, FAX, Phone, Email. Keep in mind based on your response, they will send you some disclosure form and once you complete and send it to them, they will act upon that.

For the rest do whatever you can and cross your finger for the best. Hope your hubby will get the phone call from embassy soon :-)

Unfortunately that's all I can say :-(, keep your hopes high, stay positive and don’t let the negative thoughts bite you hard. Depression can chew you hard if you are not optimistic at all time.

That's good advice hellraiser .......... just want to say that reading all the conversations here on visajourney will really help .. especially when you actually see the rewards of patience when the visas are issued .... I did my weekly phone call this morning and spoke to a very polite lady who told me we are still in AP ... I pray all the time and know God has a plan and I know that one day this will be over and I will be with my husband even if I have to fly back to Senegal this summer ... we're entering our 19th month of being apart and I really feel for you all ... hang in there
