Hello my VJ members, i wanna use this opportunity to thank Almighty God for this Success journey so far.. Is GOD al the way!

Firstly I will start my sharing right from the interview, Here it goes:

CO: Good morning.. Oh sorry, Afternoon

ME: afternoon

CO: who is the petitioner?

ME: my Fiance

CO: Name?

ME: I answered

CO: how did you guys meet?

ME: we meet @ bla bla bla.......

CO: do you love her?

ME: yes I do

CO: did you have an engagement party

ME: yes

CO: oh okay...

CO: can I see your engagement pictures?

The album was to big to enter the small hole right infront of her, so I was flipping through while she look at those pictures

CO: wow, wow, wow......

CO: why are you pustrating , is this not marriage?

Now I begin to scare,

ME: no, is an engagement party

Quickly , I showed her our Inviation card where it shows ''engagement party''

The CO left the room for almost 10mins, I guess she went to discuss with her collegue, can't really figure out

Here is the Dangerous of all question and I thank VJers for sharing this before my interview , am sure I would have messed up big time LOL!

CO: DID YOU PAY DOWRY!

Me: confortably , I said NO.

CO: can I have your phone record?

I gave her, and said Congratulation, Welcome to America!

ME: I said, sorry I can't hear you, she repeated her self

And I said Thank you.

Lesson: Body language is the key! And please, don't give them information if not asked, if you can't hear the CO, don't feel ashamed to ask to repeat what he/she just said, ABOVE ALL , GOD is the Key to any interview not only emnassy interview, Job interview.... Mention it! Just pray for DIVINE favor: He will answer you!

Wow! Wow! Wow! Congrats and thanks for taking the extra time for the review. We had an engagement party as well and plenty of proof of it only being an engagement party. Nice to see a successful interview that had a party. So congrats! Thanks again and welcome to the States!!! You've calmed my nerves slightly... God is good :)

It is nromally a Yoruba traditional greeting that a young man will give to an elderly person by stretching like you ar doing a push up; however for the engagement, the man will lie down completely with the hand strectched to greet the bride's family, and will lay down untill "satisfied" by the family, then will be told to get up, thus officially welcoming him to the family. It is after this that the bride will be brought in. If the his prostrqtes is not allowed, there is no bride..>I have never ssen one rejected though)..LOL
