EXPEDITE REQUEST ANSWER

VJ,

I am still waiting on an answer for my expedite request for my I-130. I received an email stating they needed a copy of my military ID and orders on 7 Feb. That same day I faxed it to the number on the email and attention to Officer Stevens as directed (I live in Japan so I am pretty much a day ahead). I still have yet to hear an answer back.

I called them and they said that I should receive a letter in the mail letting me know the approval or not, but as soon as I called I received a email about my wifes name. On the form they sent me saying they received my I-130 it had her name wrong. So im not sure if they were confused when I called or what.

Not sure how true that is because the lady I originally talked to when I requested the expedite said I would get a decision within 5 days!

I will be deploying soon and now my wife is pregnant!

Any insight would be awesome!

Thanks all!

Eric

That form you got would be the I-797 or your NOA. I would call back to the military help line and talk to that same contact or someone else if he isn't available. However, the I-130 with overseas addresses have been getting pretty fast approvals from USCIS.

If you have your actual orders, mail a copy of your orders with an attached a copy of your NOA. Write "Military Expedite" on the outside of the envelope also.

Good luck!

EAHC1, What number did you call for the expedite because we did not have a phone number to call only a fax number.

It maybe true that a delayed response maybe a refusal, but please let me know the know the number you called.

I do however believe military deployment should be a true expedite.

Call military again to find out more information.

Good luck.

1love,

Here is the number I called to request an expedite for my I-130. 1-877-247-4645. They will ask you some information. So make sure you have your petition number handy and all that good stuff.

I beleive so too. Thats a category when they give you option to expedite. Its not like this is my first deployment either. We go on deployment every year.

I will call them again tonight and see what is going on.

Thanks!

I was in nearly the same situation you are in.

On 18 December 2011 I sent a request to the USCIS to have my case expedited due to military deployment. On 19 December I got a RFE, I sent as requested on the 21 December (same exact thing you did faxed attention bla). I did not hear anything back from the USCIS..... NOTHING!

Finally on 4 Jan 12 I got NOA2 notification.

Once you get that NOA2 wait about 10 days then call the NVC and request the same thing from them. The expedite will not follow you once you leave the USCIS, you will have to request again with the NVC and the Embassy.

Good luck

O really? I just called the military help line and the lady said they sent me a RFE on 27 Feb. If they are gonna ask me to mail it to them what is the point of faxing it?!? It cost me $15 to fax all that paperwork! I will make sure I make copies of everything and mail the NVC and Embassy!

Appreciate the help!

A request to expedite based on your wife being pregnant is not a reason for the request to be approved. From start to finish an I-130 -- to issuance of a IR-1/CR-1 is in the 9 months range.

Ah, I am not sure then. You can always call and ask them to see what they say. My wife is pregnant as well.

i just called and talked to them she told me it was a vaild request that falls under the human bracket of the expedite descriptions. now its off to the CSC director for a approval. I will pray and hope for good news!!!
