ok so the online ds156 does my fiance sign that in advance or does he sign it infront of someone in the consulate

What does it say on the instructions?

Your fiance needs to sign ds 156 at # 41 in advance.

sorry but how does that not answer your question??

because there is two parts were it needs signature.

one part is for the person who helped in filling it out

the other one is for the person going to the interview

but i dont know if my fiance ( whos going to the interview) signs it before or during the interview

AR... Do you have the instructions that should have been provided with the packet 3?

Your answer should be right there... If it has to be signed, it will say SIGNED, if not, it will say "Do not sign it"

At least, this is how mine came.

Your mexican fiance will have to sign it at the interview in front of the IO when indicated, NOT before.

Just went through that process. If you helped her fill out the form, you will need to sign that portion in advance. Her portion on the 156 will done at the interview process when told to do so.

If he is NOT fluent in english and you did fill out the form on his behalf then you will have to sign that part, if you did not then nobody signs it.

Your fiance will sign the other part at the interview when the IO asks him to do so.

I just looked at my packet 3, and the one that says "Do not sign it" is the 156K... no idea if this is Embassy specific. AR just told me that they do not get a packet 3 /shrug blush.gif

That is the same for Manila regarding the 156K, and they don't send a packet out either everything is online.
