Thanks! So let's say I do not finish soon with my 2011 taxes and want to send AOS, it would be totally okay to send 2008, 2009, 2010. NVC would accept this??

Yep, since the deadline to file your taxes for 2011 is mid-April. You'll also want to send a letter of employment and last few pay stubs to show your current income, although the embassy at interview stage will be more interested in that than the NVC.

Interesting. I had also filed the 864EZ and only sent them a copy of my most current (at the the time, 2010) tax return. I did request transcripts for previous years but did not send them as they were not required for the EZ form.

Everything was going fairly smoothly til I filed my AOS package.

I sent the I864EZ with only one year tax returned and attached W2. They sent back saying that they needed W2 + 1040's. Which I sent back.

I recieved another notice saying that they need Federal income tax returns, literal printouts from the IRS (RTFTP) or a Letter 1722 issued by IRS. I dont even know what this is.... ? I am getting so frustrated that all I can do is cry. I am so close but this has now been sent back twice - has this happneed to anyone else?

Tina

I literally called IRS to have my transcripts sent to me and they faxed it immediately. They are also going to mail me a copy as well. Call 800-829-3676 now and they will do it for you.

I asked this question to an NVC customer rep today and here's what she told me:

-If the USC is submitting the I-864 before April 17, 2012 (cut off date for tax filing), then NVC requires 2010 transcripts

-If the USC is submitting the I-864 after April 17, 2012, then NVC will require the 2011 transcripts.

Having said that, I guess it doesn't hurt to submit the 2011 W2 as advised by other VJ members.

Good luck.

I sent off my 2008, 2009 and 2010 a few weeks ago. and it was accepted. I believe if NVC receives your AOS after April tax deadline, then you will need to send in the 2011 tax information...

Maybe we should recommend to everyone on VJ to use transcripts instead of returns. It is a better form of proof and avoids the RFE.

I sent tax returns for my sole joint sponsor for years 2009, 2010 and (last pay-stub for year 2011 showing YTD info=income earned all year) and a letter from his boss scribed in Feb 2012 showing that he is currently employed and has been continuously working at the same place for 13 yrs. I hope that works.

I used transcripts for Removal of Conditions and from day I mailed it in until 10 year Green Card was in my hand was 85 days. People are still waiting from June and July and I was in Sept. I have wondered why mine was so fast. Nothing else special except maybe good pictures and my will showing my wife as beneficiary.
