I am American, live near Chicago and I will Marry my Brazilian sweetheart in April in Recife, Brazil this year. we have been dating for 2 1/2 years now. She has her tourist visa and has been to the USA to visit me three times so far and I have been there several times to visit her.

My questions: We will Marry there and apply for her visa to come here. Can she visit (just visit) the USA to be with me while we wait for her visa?

Next - do I start the paperwork now?

Any other advice you can give?

You cannot start the paperwork until after you marry.

Her tourist visa is valid, so that's good. But entrance is never a guarentee, neither is duration of stay

i believe she can just visit but has to have some proof she will return back to brazil,

It might be an idea to start gathering the paperwork and filling out the forms now.... except for the time sensitive ones they should wait until jut before they are needed, but obviously you cannot send it in until you're married
