Did you have to get a Marriage Cert by in the States?

Said that you married over in VN. You got their certificate there.

Do both of us need to apply for one in the states as well? Like certain company need this and that for proof, would a VN cert will do?

No. Your VN marriage is legal in the US, so the Vietnamese marriage certificate is good enough. You do not to register your marriage, and you do not need to get a US marriage certificate.

Married people don't get married again because they are already married. In the USA, a marriage certificate is only issued to people as a result of a marriage in the specific jurisdiction issuing the certificate. So, if married in VN, you have a VN marriage certificate. That's it. Done. Married is married.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
