Hi. thought some people on here might know this. whats the best phonecards for calling the US and also the US calling the UK. Both for cell/mobile.

I like to use Google Voice to call China for 2-cents a minute from my iPhone to a mobile. Not sure why UK is 10-cents for mobile and 2-cents for landline.

I use it because most phones cards do not offer a record and charge crazy connection, maintenance, and minimum charges adding up to 15% of the card price.

If anyone is interested, Sipgate let you have an incoming geographic uk number for free, let you top up with some credit and you get 'cheaper than bt' phone calls to the uk and pretty much the rest of the world.

SIP phones are readily available and there are apps on the smartphone market for it, iPhone and Android collectively, meaning if anyone wants to get in touch with you, they call your local number, and you can dial them through the web. It's also cheaper than skype and doesn't tie you in

No I don't work for them, I promise. I work in IT, this stuff is my day job. Vonage is exactly the same thing but their model was expensive as hell, sipgate seems to have it right for the UK market. As far as I can tell they run off the back of the gradwel servers who also offer decent sip deals if you have a uk business account. Bit more compatible as well.

I shall now await someone warning me because they think I'm advertising! but if you have any questions, feel free to ask. I can show you a video of my current set up as well. Easy. Promise!
