Good Morning everyone !!!

I hope everyone is doing well.

I woke in such a good mood this morning.... yea!!! I took a look at the link posted on the Off Topic forum about the fab pics on Earth ...http://home.att.net/~hideaway_fun/442/planet.htm it is really a must see!!! :D

My honey told me this morning at 9am I am lazy... at first I wanted to take it as him being rude again, but we just laughed on that realising O snaps you are the one who sleeps all day man!

Going to market today with a rather large list of things to buy. Elhamdullah my husband did not go to work today... (hehe he can come with me and haggle for me hehe) Hmmm I AM going to BUY some pans today FINALLY !!!!!! (inchallah)

I am giving in and making him one of those nasty stinken Algerian style tarts  He better like it. I am even putting bananas per his request on it (Yuk!)

Other then I plan to make a small fig and yoghurt cake with the leftover yoghurt I have in the frig before it goes back. Also my neighour gave me very hard and not very good tasting peaches, so I am going to make a lattice peaches. Inchallah I will find some almond paste in the souq, or I will make the paste myself depending how much the almond cost...(o snaps almonds here cost the same if not more as the meat :( )

O snaps cannot even make really anything with cheese as cheese costs a load too :( ... Snaps... life without cheesecake...***sad***

So anyway I am going to blanche the peaches, so I can remove the skins, then cut them in half filling them with the almond paste. Then with some puff pastry make a round base on which to set the peaches...and lay a lattice top on it.

Also yet again, my husband seems to have found a way to make me look stupid. As he woke found ironing he said, go to my aunt's home and make some vermicelli with her. OK, I did this once and it was all good and nice, but seems to take all the day to make a very little amount of pasta...so I had it in my mind it was a total waste of time esp since it costs about 30cents per kilo this pasta in the marketplace...and it takes me 3 hours just to make about half pound...hmmm do the math! I explained him I am happy to socializ with his aunt after I finish my own work and listen to the Qur'an ... but he insisted saying it is the Algerian way. Hmmm...THAT AGAIN! I AM NOT ALGERIAN...AND I DONNOT HAVE THE LUXURY OF DOING NOTHING ALL DAY BUT SITTING ON MY BUTT TWIDDLING MY FINGERS AND MAKING SOME STUPID PASTA (which I can buy cheap in the market)

Uffffffff.... I need a mortion right now!

It looks like you are having a better day, so thats good to know but they sure do keep you busy. Maybe the banana tart wont be so bad since you are making it yourself. Hatem loves this spicy mushroom slop that of course I didn't know how to make, so he made the first few rounds. I could barely swallow the stuff untill I made it myself. He showed me how so it was the same slop but somehow handling it personally made it edible. (In fact we eat it kinda regularly now)

Whats with the neighbor giving you crappy peaches? not cool

have fun shopping

Today I have a problem to fix and I'm not real happy about it but its all my fault. I messed with the dishnetwork cables last night to move the hookup, and it doesnt look like anything is wrong but now that its all plugged back in, no signal. grrrr. I didn't touch the dishes, just unplugged the cables, moved them to where they would feed into a different plate, cut them, attached new connection ends which look fine and are on tight. It looks good but clearly I made a wrong turn somewhere. The cable is shorter now, so i cant even put it all back like it was.

So I am waiting for sunlight....

Have a good saturday everybody!

Hello Saturday! I am at work again. But I don't mind so much. Saturdays are always slow until around 10:30 so I have about and hour and a half to mess around on-line. My husband and I woke up this morning to have breakfast and he turned to me and said "Honey I love you, but What do we have for breakfast that I haven't had all week?" I had just bought some oatmeal with dates, raisins, and walnuts in it and made it for him. After he ate it, he said "Now THAT was a good breakfast!" Days that I actually make waffles of pancakes, he thanks me and says it's good, but he doesn't really seem enthusiastic about it like he did with microwaved oatmeal. Wierdo! On my gosh! I made this "Saffron and Ginger Soup" last night. It was awesome! My husband loved it and asked if I could make it again next week. But next week I am making pumpkin soup, which I am sure he will love too, but if not too bad for him.

Anyway, tonight I think I am just going to be sitting on my bum watching movies. I am not really in the mood to go out, and I have a headache starting on me again. I can't tell yet if it will become a migraine or not, but hopefully not. Well I hope everyone has a good weekend.

Good morning all.... I'm at work for a while, then going to dance class. I'm making a special video for my honey today (L) and then hopefully going home to take a NAP - I'm tired. I danced out of town 2 nites in a row and woke up to work both days after- poop.... I'm tired. I really should do some housework, but it may not happen.... rest is more important, I think. I'll also try to go visit my aunt- she's not been feeling well and she just turned 80 last week. I love her dearly, so it's time for a little visit. Enough of my rambling.... have a great day everyone. Janine, I hope your not getting another migraine - take care!

I donnow Dawn..people seem to have a habit here to give their neighbours these small "gifts"of food items which at first I was soooo happy to recieve but after about 3 of them I realize they are just trying to get rid of the junk they have in their frig/pantry... I actually last week a plate of marquez, which btw I like...but after smelling them, I was like.........wooooooooooooa trash caaaaaaaaan! ( Yuk! )

Thanks you too Mrs Forgetful

My husband seems to also like, things that myself donnot find that interesting or even good... I tried elobrate dishes, but he seems to request repeats on the made-on-the-fly dishes ... my husband actually likes creme of wheat drizzled honey...so hmmm must be some NA thing to eat "sweet slop" for breakfast

Dawn does it say 'no signal'? Mohammed called me at work and said 'our tv says no signal on it' OK honey from my desk, let me fix it for you.....

I called Dish and they said to power cycle it just like a computer modem. Push and hold the power button on the receiver. If that doesn't work, unplug the cords in back and plug back in. He did that and it worked! So worth a try.

I have the day off! NO WORK! Yea for me :D Hope you all have a great day.

Usually what I've been having for suhour most days. But grits have got to be spicy w/ butter!!!! ewwwwwwww.... sweet grits would just be totally nasty!

and thanks, Henia... I hope to get some rest this weekend! Good luck w/ your cooking endeavors. I hope Ahmed knows how lucky he is! *wink* and I hope Said realizes I don't have time to prepare food like his family does! ;)

I made creme of wheat and oatmeal for him ...which LOL he seemed to like...(crepes also) We started to experiment with different topping like honey, figs, nuts, chopped up dates and even confitures.

Well about the cooking, I love to cook...rather experiment with cooking... I am not totally retarded when it comes to reading (or actually) following recipes...but blind cooking/baking I am there... In the US I donnot have much time either... cos I actually work, but here I have that luxury...unfortunately my husband doesnt seem to share in my ensthuasim...but its ok when I leave in November I am sure he will remember when he eating fried eggs and potatoes every day.

Busy day today! My family & I are doing a 5 mile WALK FOR LIFE. We have a cute little wagon all rigged up for my daughter. In case you that don't know, my daughter has been VERY ill off and on for about 4 months and it's been getting worse. We just found out Monday that she has "something" on her right kidney and her blood work is all messed up. We're going to specialists next week. She wanted to do this walk sooooo bad that we agreed to let her go if she doesn't walk.

After the walk we have b-day parties to go to. Then to the mall for a bit to get some things.

Hope everyone is having a great day!
