I went to Morocco only once, in January of this year for one month. Most of the time was spent running from one office to another getting the "stamps". But I loved it there. The people are wonderful and I love his family. They treated me so special. And I loved shopping in the souqs of Marrakech. Can't wait to go back.

Patti,

Thanks for letting me know. I can remember all too well running around for the "stamps", lol Is your hubby from Marakech? That was the first city I visited, we spent 3 days there, I hope that we can go back again some time, it was a little too hot for my liking when we were there (and that was in October). I hope you get to go back soon.

I was in Marrakech in August 2005 and it was unbearable. We only went out at night and even then it was warm. I went again in December 2005 and it was soooo nice. Not cold and not hot but just right!

Noura, what do you think of those books you ordered?

I'm working on Scimitar & the Veil - and it's really good.... I just have not had as much time to read as I'd like so, bits & pieces at a time. The Beauty of Islam just came in and I'll start it when I finish this one.

Also ordered "Daughters of Another Path".

The nice thing about both books, the Scimitar & the Veil, and Conference of the Books: The Search for Beauty in Islam, is that they are chapter books that you can pick up and put down, reading a chapter at a time. I'm glad you're enjoying it!

Patti,

Thanks so much for the very informative post. Congratulations and best wishes

ALso, when I went to Morocco it was in June of this year. The water was freezing at the beach. But, I got in anyways. The weather was nice not too hot until towards the last of the month. We did not get to make it to Marrakech. Next time we will go there. Me and my husband are looking at all the posts as we are chatting online........

Do you talk to women online?

Thanks for sharing your husband's experience, Patti. It's so useful to those who interview after you. I found the question above to be rather interesting. I haven't heard of them asking that before.

That is a bold question, and it sounds like he needs too talk to people for his job. It does make you wonder, do they have a way of tracking what you do online? My husband lets his friends come over and use his laptop (he has a laptop and a desktop) to talk to women....now that would look really bad! Of course, as you can see, he tells me about it so it certainly isn't something he is doing behind my back. In fact, when the woman say something they don't understand my husband asks me to translate.

So, if that was brought up in our second interview, how would he address it without making them suspicious of some sort of immigration fraud. Its simply that his friends wants to find a wife too. Maybe for immigration purposes, maybe for love, we don't really ask, but I certainly wouldn't be a part of it if I believed the person was going to play with her heart.

'Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO, What a Ride'

I thought it was kinda gutsy too. But he was very honest with her and explained that he has not talked with anyone on a personal level since he met me. The Riad has many guests that will send emails and messages for reservations and information. Many former guests have become friends with my husband and will msg him on occasion. He feels that she was trying to trap him is some way by implying that he is an internet womanizer. Nothing could be farther from the truth. He found many things that were asked of him offensive and manipulative. But in the end he was able to show her that we have a genuine relationship and our marriage is for love and by God. The woman is tough but thorough, and I guess that is what she should be to do her job. My best suggestion for anyone would be that you come prepared for anything. Bring as much evidence as possible and stay calm. Don't get caught up in the questions as the same thing is asked in several ways. Abderrazzak brought two cases full of chat logs, emails, phone bills, text records, letters, photos and package receipts. And she looked at everything.
