It's funny how woodward is not a prostitute emboldening our enemies when he does writes nice things about the bush white house, is unparalleled access to cheney, andrew card, etc., ignores what he knows about the valerie plame affair, etc.

Furthermore it never ceases to amaze me why people are so surprised that the press publishes "negative" stories about Iraq. I'm mean... they're not making up these stories, and Iraq remains a controversial and divisive issue for many Americans. What is it they want journalists to say?

Only when the media divorces itself as much from reality as the folks at 1600 Penn Ave will the Bushies be happy. :P

It's probably true that Bush and gang have been painting a rosier picture than things really are, but as I said before which president would stand up and say I f*cked up. Plus how well would WWII have gone if the news every night said 50 more killed today in Germany and Japan. Kind of hard to conduct a war when every move is talked about and second guessed. Hell during WWII FDR rounded up Japanese U.S. citizens and people here act the world is coming to an end because some guy that looks like a muslim gets hassled on a plane or that we are holding non U.S. citzens in Gitmo.

Stay the course...just what IS the course? I think right there explains why his policies are in question.

I'm not bright enough to figure out a solution to the mess, because it seems we are damned if we do and damned if we don't pull out. If a Democrat wins in 2008 I don't see him saying whoops it was all a mistake and pulling out. What I more worried about right now is the boneheads deciding to attack Iran.

If that's the conventional wisdom than do you suppose it'd be courageous for the President to at least acknowledge that perceived predicament?

Also, if the Iraqi's want us out of there and we had promised them we wouldn't be staying long (remember the June 30th date where authority was transfered to the Iraqi Gov't...hahahaha), shouldn't we honor that?
