We're all impatient here, we all want to be reuinited with our loved ones. That's just the way it goes...

As for the topic of the post, would even the consulate be dealing with this at this point? I mean, the actual lottery doesn't start accepting applications until October 4th. Even then, it's all automated on a website. I could imagine in the spring when the winners are chosen and the NVC and consulates have to deal with these new visas that it would be a problem. I can't imagine it really having an effect right now though.

Of course, I could be totally off-base on this, just my logic.

The way I understand it, applications for 2006 are accepted beginning October 2005. Winners are notified in the summer of 2006, and immigrant visa processing for these begins at the consulates in early October of 2006.

The visa lottery has nothing to do with the delays. As much as you think IMBRA is over, it's not. There are plenty of people from March and April still waiting and the service centers are still cleaning up the mess. And yes, every case is different. TRY TRY TRY to chill out - if not, you are going to drive yourself completely bonkers. I know, I went through it myself for 5 1/2 months and it's just not worth it. It will get processed, you will get approved. It's not like you are sitting back doing nothing - you have faxed the expedite (which I still think is very strange) and contacted senators. You must give them some time to work. Take a deep breath, step away from the computer and try to stop worrying about everything - at least until next week.

Ahh, I see! I was thinking about the current (2007-2008) lottery which is just starting next week. I see now how that carries over through the following year. Thanks for the info.

Everyday I try and tell Craig (and myself) that we are going to look back on this time in 10, 15, 40 years and just shake our heads about how we were freaking out so badly about such a SMALL drop in the bucket that is our lives together. 6 months. 1 year. 2 years. However long it takes, is such a small price to pay for being together for a lifetime.

That being said, telling myself that almost never works and I continue to be impatient and anxious everyday.

@ some point there is an end to the waiting ... your right about the 90 day mark since NOA1 .. thats how long we waited for VSC .. and our case had no complications .. as i have read from your other posts you are or were @ least worried that your case wasn't free of complications ... I hope that you get your approval ASAP because waiting sucks  It's impossible not to be worried and stressed and generally angry .. heheh in the end for us @ least ... it was fairly anti climactic ... Should we start a pool for what day you finally pop that blood vessel and have a stroke?

Seriously, you need to learn some level of patience.

Take it easy on the OP, ok? Everybody in here is stress out one way or the other. I'm one of the lucky few, i got approved in 66 days at csc. My case is now at the embassy and interview would have been conducted earlier than Nov 9th,2006 if we hadn't changed the date. I've seen so many VSC applicants that took way less than 60 days. Everybody, pls. take a chill pill and if you are fed up of the Op just ignore him. Let's all be supportive here please.

Is it Visa Lottery time?? could this be the reason why no action at all??

Please andymisiu, don't bother VSC so much 'cause some of the govt. workers don't like to be bothered as thye can be cruel and malicious. I know you are already tired of waiting, please don't extend it unneccassarily. OK?

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...34056&st=15

No, we didn't. that thread was about contacting elected officials, this thread is about the Lottery, which I don't know anything about. Thanks to this thread, now I do. I got it, doesn't look like it should effect the petition. So now me and the OP who PM'd me about it have one more thing to check off the list as possibilities to the delay.

Thanks to everyone who posted regarding the topic, which really didn't have anything to do with my woes of waiting. Until some people decided to bring that up. I appreciate the feed back and support.

Good luck to everyone!!

I was referring to the overkill of posts & patience (or lack thereof).

Devilette,

Bring it on USCIS!!! I told you it was war!!!

I mean, what else am I going to do?

Well, you faxed yesterday. RELAX.

Call a senator if you want.

Every day I see 2 new posts from you about what to do. It feels like overkill.

Sure didn't. I involved ONE senator. I didn't fax. I didn't call all congresspeople in my state. This was deep in IMBRA times when no approvals were coming out either, unlike now.

I didn't post EVERY SINGLE DAY about lack of action.

Just chill some Andy. We've all had to wait, some much longer than you or I.

Maybe there should be a general rule that no one can complain until after they have waited for 90 days?

HA like that would work.
