I am requesting some help from any or all of you on here PLEASE. We haven't even started the IR-1 process so no timeline to post. On line 5 of the G-325a it asks for the birthdate/s of a former spouse. I was previously married twice, for a short time each, a "LONG" time ago and can no longer remember their birthdates. Without this knowledge how can I answer the "Date of Birth" question? I'm not even sure you can put "unknown" in that field as it wants numbers and I'm not sure if I could it would be acceptable. Anyone ever run into such a problem? Any ideas?

Thanks a bunch in advance for any help anyone can offer!

Greg

It's reasonable to forget things over the course of time. If you can't recall or find the info attach a sheet stating that you do not remember/cannot find the info.

Worst that can happen is an RFE. Though, I'd bet it would be ok.

Go or write to where you got the marriage licenses, the birth dates of each person should be listed on the license! Here is a link you can use! Where to Write for Vital Records - Homepage

Just take that form and put a pin in it.

Read the instructions. You MUST provide copies of the divorce documents for both marraiges, my guess is it will be in there somewhere. If not go to the clerk of records where you married and get a copy of the marriage license. This questions is going to answer itself before you are finished. Leave it blank for now, go on to the next question.

Actually "unknown" could be used as it is not a material matter. Just type in "unknown" and when it says "that is not acceptable..." just hit the "tab" key and move on. I suggest you get the copies of the marriage certificates just because you should have them and you will need them for later parts of the process, including citizenship. Go ahead and get them now.

OR

Print it and handwrite it in. You can ahand write any or all of these forms as long as it is legible.

Hi everyone, sorry for the long delay in answering and MANY thanks for your input and advice.

togetherforever13: I have no timeline to post. We haven't even started the process yet but will the minute I send off the I-130.

Anh map: Thanks for the advice. I want to avoid those RFE's like the plague if I can. This whole process takes an insane amount of time already. I'm going to call USCIS to see what they say about writing in "unknown". Will report back my findings.

Robby999: Thanks for the link. I have copies of the marriage licenses but there is no birthday listed on them for either of us. :-(

Gary and Alla: Thanks for the advice. You say "stick a pin it the form"?..... personally I'd like to burn the thing. I did read the instructions. The G-325a is "complete" with the exception of the "Dates of Birth". As I replied to Robby999, I have copies of the marriage licenses but no birthdates are listed on them! I also have all divorce records, again, with no birthdates. (Are birthdates on anyone else's marriage or divorce papers?) I had to have those "notarized" AND "apostilled" to get married in Ukraine. You say it's not a "material matter" and it sure isn't to me but how can you say it "isn't" to USCIS? I think these people SEARCH for things to use to reject applications. The process is insanely long already, I don't want to make it even longer. You say I will need the marriage certificates later in the process. I am confused. Where/when will I need those? You say I will need them for citizenship. I will evidence my citizenship with my US birth certificate or US passport. Anyway, I'm going to "TRY" and call someone at USCIS to see if I can get an answer. I'm hoping you're right and the answer is not germain information.

THANKS AGAIN TO ALL OF YOU FOR YOUR HELP AND INPUT. I will let you know what I find out and hopefully none of you need this info!
