Affadavit of support for London Embassy

Hi folks

After a surprisingly super quick NOA2 I'm now trying to get my head around what sort of information I need for the next step of the process. It all looks relatively simple apart from the bloomin Affadavit of Support thing. My fiancee doesnt earn enough to 'support' me (like she'd let me sit around and not get a job anyway!) so her dad is going to be the co-sponsor. Does that mean that he'll need to get pay stubs, bank information, declaration of funds, letter from employer etc. and send them over to me? (If so then thats going to be kind of embarrasing, finding out how much he earns and how much he has saved!)

Finally I see theres 2 different types of forms that could be requested by the embassey - the I-134 and the I-864. Does anyone know which will be required by the London embassey?

Thanks in advance for your help,

James

I have read in many threads that London requires the I-134. The I-134 is used by all consulates for non-immigrant visas like K1, and K3, because the I-864 will eventually be used for AOS.

In London they'll want the I-134.

If you future father in law is co-sponsering you then yes, he will need to complete a seperate I-134 and provide all the supporting documentation in addition to the one your Fiancee will fill out. I could be wrong but I don't think that his savings need to be disclosed if he earns enough to cover the required amounts.

Mark :)

We filed in London and were required to use the I-864.

We didn't have to figure out which one to use, they just sent us the form. I wasn't aware there was more than one type of affadavit of support until I came here.

james_michael_hill's prior post indicated that they are doing K1 visa by stating fiance, I would assume K1, and the K1 uses the I-134. CR-1 being an immigrant visa uses I-864.

james_michael_hill, Can you update your profile to indicate "Immigration Status" or "Filed For", it helps when people read your thread. Just go to your profile page and click "Edit My Profile" at the bottom and fill in things like service center, Country of Non-US Fiance, and Imigration status?

actually regarding the evidence for the I-134 - I assume my finacee and her dad (who is the co-sponsor) will both need to gather evidence? how much evidence do most people supply? I know I've gone over board on evidence of our relationship, but I dont really want to nag the future father-in-law for pay stubs and letters of employment for more than I have too!

Yes, both have to. It says what is needed on page 3 of the I=134 as far as evidence.
