N-400 and Criminal Record ?

prior to submitting your application, Part 5 of the N400 asks for your "description" which will be used by the FBI to do a background check, and then the instructions/docs requirement checklist says that if you were arrested...you have to submit evidence that you have already served sentence/case was dropped etc.

so, you have to submit docs in regard to criminal records together with your application

03-14-2008 NOA 2

04-07-2008 Medical exam passed

04-25-2008 Interview, visa aproved, no RFEs!

04-25-2008 Waiting for DELBROS/NSO

05-07-2008 Visa on hand ! Wow, less than 3 months! Thank you Lord!

05-26-2008 POE Detroit, no problems, thank God!

07-01-2008 Married 07-01-08, civil, just us w/ his parents

07-16-2008 Mailed out AOS package

07-19-2008 wedding ceremony

08-19-2008 biometrics appointment

08-25-2008 i-485 touched

i submit it a californina criminal history with the n-400 application do i still need to provide court disposition from all my cases ? my last case was back in 2005 any help ?

Yes, you do.

The standard of good moral character is quite high when it comes to naturalization. Basically, this is the time they make you equal to a natural-born U.S. citizen, which is a big deal. Naturally, they want to have a close look at all of your criminal history and make sure it's all water under the bridge. I'm sure you'll understand that.

Thanks for the head up Man foreal !!! quick question i have like 10 cases on my record since i was 18 in 5 different courts in california that means i have to go all those court for the certifired disposition ? since I'm waiting on my interview letter and will the letter show to bring proof of evidence?...

Yes, you do.

You have to provide all the proof of all your convictions. It is better to provide all these by yourself instead of the USCIS finding it out ( as they will be doing a FBI Check before approving your application)

Thanks jessica....... that's what I'm planning to do even thought its gonna be a mission but is a must....just did my Finger Print on Nov 22.....All i can do now is hope for the best !

I just mail to request all my court dispositon to 5 different courts of my 10 case in my RAP SHEET ....can't wait to get them so I'll have all my paper work ready soon as i get my interview letter !!!! I'm not really scared of the outcome the past is the past can't duel on it...the good thing is that been out trouble with law since 2005 so i hope thats good enought moral caracter...

What kind of questions did they ask you about your past crime ? I had a past crime about 7 years ago it was a wobbler felony that happen 7 years ago and I got it expunge 2 years ago will I have issues on my interview day? I have all doc I need to prove that it's been expunged. My interview in is 30 day from now

They will ask you about the events that led up to your felony and depending on the felony, they may take extra time to adjudicate your case. Are you seeking the advice of a lawyer? You may want to consider it. My friend who had two felonies still naturalized, so it is possible. But he hired a really good lawyer etc. Good luck, pare.

I ask a lawyer 2 years ago before I got my felony expunge to a misdemeanor I was told by the lawyer to get in to a misdemeanor since the case was a wobbler . And I been a good moral character for 7 years now. I only have one count of crime in my history. I hope all goes well for me on my interview. What do you think

i have an interview this coming tuesday im so nervous about my past crime that happen 7 years ago i did get it expunge and set aside and dismiss under pen code 1203.4. I've been good since then.

On question number 15 on part 10 it states "have you ever committed a crime or offense for which you were not arrested?" i answered no because i did not get arrested but i got charge a felony at the court house it was when i got involve in my friend mess and i pleaded guilty to the crime which i should had not got involve with.

should i have answer yes to that question? it is a tricky question i just want to be honest on this interview thats all.i have all court disposition and documents of when i got it expunge . should i be ok on the day of my interview? if i change my answer to question 15 on part 10 on the application

Updating I finish my interview for n400 on july 8 pass the English and writing and civic test and after the IO said that a decision cannot be made so I went to my congressman office to help me expedite My case . On july 29 I got an update on the uscis Website and I'm scheduled for An interview and I should wait for a letter .

My question is why am I in line again for a interview if I gave them everything They need such as COD and my COE I don't get it. I called the 800 number and the information I was given was just general information . I also ask to speak with tire 2 and it's always busy . I don't know what to think anymore . Any advice
