Visa approved!!! wooo! was really simple. Didnt ask to see any evidence of relationship. Asked a few questions about where we met, wedding date, what he does for work, the temping thing came up- but i pointed out i have a cosponsor in case. Didnt even ask for the co sponsors birth certificate (which i had on me, since i forgot to send to NVC). Said everything looks fine, im going to aprove you!

My advise for london would be deffo get there really early between 7.30 and 8.30, earlier the better. You will be seen much quicker. I got there at 8.30 and there was a good few people already inside waiting. It took 2 and 1/2 hours for the whole process. But after I got there- the place filled up, where most seats were taken, i imagine it would of taken alot longer. Its frustrating because the immigrant visa numbers are only called every 10 minutes, non immigrant visas are called constanly!

Congratulations!! I'm so happy for you!

I hope that in 13 days I hear the same magical words :)

Im moving to Pennsylvania. I didnt realise flights were cheaper on the 31st! Im having a leaving doo with friends the 14th of Jan so have to stay till after than now, which sucks. I want to leave sooner. I dont think a student visa is gonna pose more questions expect basic ones like, what university, how long etc.

I only just saw this thread, thanks A+H for keeping an eye out for me :)

The 221g sucks a little, I really wanted to post good news on here like everyone else but I guess I sort of knew this might be an issue. I have my passport appointment booked tomorrow - it's a 4 hour round trip, about £50 in fuel and £130 for the passport, but then I would pull the sun from the sky if I had to, to get this and see Bobby again.

Good luck Nickky and others on your upcoming interviews, well done Utopia2004. I agree about time getting to the embassy - I joined the line an hour before my appointment at 7.30am and I was already at the first window by 8.15am! Maybe that was my downfall - it was too early and the interviewer was cranky. I recommend getting there early, and having more paperwork than you think you need - you can bin photocopies if you don't need them, but you can't wish missing ones to appear if you do!

Ready for my grand ol' timeline? Alrighty then!

10-05-10 - Married in California
06-13-11 - I-130 approved
10-13-11 - CASE COMPLETE!
12-02-11 - Interview - 221g due to a washed passport
12-17-11 - POE - YYC (preclearance in Canada)

2011 to 2013 - Life happened

06-26-13 - Divorce finalized

10-07-13 - I-751 divorce filer paperwork journey begins

07-03-14 - ROC interview - approval pending delayed background checks

07-25-14 - APPROVED! 10 year GC is finally in production!

08-01-14 - 10 year GC in hand. The journey has finally ended. :)

2014 to 2020 - Living paperwork-free and focused on me!

11-09-20 - N-400 filed online - welcome back VJ fam!

6-22-21 - Interview in Nashville, approved! And then...

6-22-21 - Pledge of Allegiance taken. Holy shirtballs I'm a US Citizen.

I've spent so many years in the loving arms of the USCIS, but now it's time to fledge. So long, my friends, may all your journeys also end on the doorstep of whatever you're searching for.

I will add to this one.... my interview was on friday, good news!!... me and my son got approved. Took the advice and got there early, dropped belongings off at goulds pharmacy. There was already people queing at 7.30. I agree fully with mrsp, although they say you dont need to take lots of evidence and copies to the london embassy, its way better to be prepared. I took the whole copy of everything i filed and a load of evidence... it wasnt looked at but id have been fuming if i didnt take it and it would be sods law they would ask for it. The paper work and fingerprints was more stressful than the atual interview, the lady I had at first was really pissy with me, that took about 20 mins... the actual interview was done and dusted in about 2 mins... .

questions:

where did you meet

what attracted you to him

does your husband have custody of his children

how long was he in army

what does he do now

where will you live

how is my relationship with my sons dad (ex)

I got there at 7.30 and i was sat on train at euston ready to go back up north by 10.30
