My fiance wants me to find out how he can watch cricket when he gets here. Has anyone found a channel that broadcasts cricket matches? If so, what channel and what cable company? I currently have Time Warner but I'm willing to make change.

Check to see what types of international and sports programming is offered by Time Warner in your service area. This can usually be found on their website.

Also, do some research regarding what is offered via satellite . DirectTv and Dish Network are the 2 major providers.

I usually just watch the match I want over a webstream online.

You can easily hook up a PC/Laptop to your HD tv nowadays. Just need a simple VGA cord and your good to go!

DISH TV has Willow Cricket channel which broadcasts cricket in the US. I purchased the package during the World Cup earlier this year. The monthly channel rate is $15, I think. You can also buy it online and watch it on your computer.

There are also tons of websites where you can watch the games for free or pay a nominal monthly fee (for better quality, no buffering etc). I have an enormous list of websites to go to when a India game is on.

Having access to watching cricket matches was one of my major concerns before moving to the US in 2005 -- I am huge cricket fan and even my nickname is a tribute to the maestro, Sachin Tendulkar -- and I have researched this issue thoroughly. :)

World Cup was awesome this year. I was in India from the beginning and watched the end here in the US. I wish I was in India at the time when we won. My wife was telling me people were going nuts all over the place! lol

My fiance was worried about this also as he was grooming to be a pro Cricket player and is very well known in his area as an excellent Cricket player. We've even investigated local Cricket clubs in my area here in the states and we've found a couple that he's going to check into once he's here! Anyways, I have Comcast and they offer a Neo Cricket channel in both Hindi and English that shows most or all of the Cricket games.

I got to watch the beginning of the World Cup while in India also this year and yes, it was quite exciting and my first brush with Cricket. I must say, I enjoy it a lot and I can't wait to see my fiance play!

I love watching Kirpal get all hyped up while watching a cricket match. It's hilarious because he's typically such a calm, mellow guy. Indians and cricket. You just can't have one without the other :)

On the flip side, Kirpal has turned into a Steelers fan. He gets excited when something cool happens even though he still doesn't understand the rules completely laughing.gif Although in all fairness, I'm not the renowned expert on cricket either.

Now if only I could turn him into an Ohio State fan whistling.gif
