I'm not from Houston, but I'm from Dallas; we'll be back in D in a few months. I know it's not much help but maybe we could meet up. I'm bringing a Brit over with me, and I know where in Dallas you can buy Walker's crisps and Milk Trays.:yes::yes:

There's a shop on Greenville that sells nothing but British products; no scouring involved, just go straight there. If they don't have it, they'll get it for you. You can even get proper bacon rashers there.

We ought to have a Texas VJ get-together sometime!!! Just wait till I get there please!!!!!!!

Another new Houstonian here (though I'd been working here for a few years before I met my darlin' man!). Just got my GC last week! A get-together sounds fantastic! I live in the Galleria area. Though I'm still working on getting a driver's license, I almost never drove in England, so I need to relearn again, and on an automatic!!

Good luck to all, and I hope we get to meet up sometime!! I nominate a BBQ place - what do they put in the sauce that makes it taste so good?!?

Naomi.

I'm from Houston as well! I love this city. Oh sure, it's got its fair share of problems, but the fourth largest city in the U.S. is -- in my opinion -- one of the greatest places to live in the country. Well, except summer time...then it's a little too hot for comfort, especially when it's humid out. ;)

A Texas meeting would be pretty cool. I don't know if I'd be able to make it (my schedule is pretty tight), but it'd be something interesting.

Am now in Houston - Katy area to be precise... would love to meet up with you and learn where I can buy English goodies

Paul and I met on the Bazaar on the 14th January (he joined my progressive rock forum that day)

July 3rd he flew to England to meet me

We fell in love while he drove all over the place coz I cannot read maps (we were supposed to go to Ingleton - but touched Darlington 4 times, Pierce Bridge 6 times, Scotch Corner twice and Bernard Castle twice and we never did make it to Ingleton)

It has been so long and so much has happened in between...

Arrived in Houston on October 29th 2006

Married 17th November 2006

Lost my father 8th January 2007 (all dates are a blur after this)

Conditional Green Card dated 24th October 2007

I-751 posted on 6th August 2009

Received on 7th August 2009 in VT

Melo's Prog Bazaar
