Hi everyone,

I sent in my application for AOS two weeks ago today. I stupidly used regular mail so I can't track the package. I signed the form to be notified when it is received and I'm starting to worry since it's been too weeks. Does anyone know how long it usually takes for them to cash the check or send you an e-mail confirmation that it was received? Should I reapply?

Thank you for your advice and support!

You cannot rely on them emailing or texting you anything for confirmation or updates. Its not reliable!

DO NOT reapply. Some people have waited 3 weeks for notification. Just wait.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

yeah, at this point the only thing to do is wait. it's unfortunate that you didn't request a return receipt, but what can you do now? you can keep track of when the check is cashed. this should give you an idea whether things are working ok.

You have to resign up for emails / txts. I did and so did a few other people. it only worked once for the received package receipt. and it can take a few weeks for them to send you anything. aos is wher most of us had issues with lost medicals, lost packets, lost appointment letters for fingerprints etc. Just keep calling and harassing them, although they are very strict on the you called within 30 days we can't tell you anythying call back in 30 more days. or in my case it was 90....thats when i went to my congressman twice to get help.

once the check is cashed adn you can see the image get the numbers and add it to your case file on uscis site so you can login as well.

I am sorry to hear that you didn't mail it with tracking info. And you know what? I super hate USPS for their tracking system. I used FedEx to mail my husband's applications. You will eventually receive the notification via hard-print mails. And yes, the text and email are not 100% reliable, because my husband said he never received text when he applied for EAD back then. They might just slow down a bit. I pray for your situation to get through. Good luck.

Did you put the G-1145 on top of the application? They must have missed it. If you don't receive a notification in 1 month you may call USCIS and do a follow up.
