Well from the info Ive seen on VJ All forms will be filled out in my wifes maiden or married. Especially for the Green Card will have to match up to her passport. So my question is I was looking at my moms Mexican passport it has both surnames before marriage on her passport, but under both surnames theres smaller text that says "casada(married) N./N. Mariee:(MARRIED NAME)". From What I understand from this line of notes on the Mexican Passport it shows she's married and her married last name. So when my wife takes my last name and changes her name on her new passport will this be ok if it looks like my moms passport, will everything be ok, will her green card show her married name? So if I fill out all the forms with the married name it shouldn't be a problem?

Thanks in advance just dont want to fill out all the forms wrong.

Hmmm....I don't recall that on my wife's Mexican passport, but then I wasn't looking for it. She will be in the US Thursday, so I will take a look and get back to you unless someone has additional information before then.

As to filling out the forms wrong, we did exactly that. Everything we sent to USCIS used her married name, but when it got to NVC they changed it all to her maiden name since it was different from her passport (that was before she had the new one). No RFE and they didn't even tell us they were doing it--it just showed up one day as the addressee of a document attached to an email.

Thank you very much magical. So from what I understood you filled all forms in her married name before having the new changed passport. So I shouldnt have no problems filling out I-130, G-325A, DS-230, choice of agent form in her married name, it should be all good?

Maybe--but then again NVC might change it as they did in our case--I just don't know what is on her new passport that was obtained AFTER we had completed the entire process, so I don't know what would have happened had we had the new one earlier. Her green card will be issued in her maiden name, so we will have to change it sometime down the line--might just wait until we remove conditions in a couple of years.
