A victim of what?????

I have my greencard.... I am with the man I love... I am happy....

So what makes me a victim?

Kezzie

I'm glad; I hope it all works out for you, but the odds are the same for you as they are for the rest of us: 50%.

Good luck.

I think you might have misread Kezzie's post. She has already been approved. There aren't any odds that she needs to be concerned about nor anything to work out. She already has her GC. As far as I know it cannot be revoked. What odds are you referring to?

The odds of her marriage...or anyone else's...ending in divorce.

Hi all....

I'd like to know if anyone here entered US. with a tourist visa, got married (unintentionally) and adjusted status to become a LPR......???

Did you have any problems with AOS?

What were you asked during the interview?

Did getting married while holding a tourist visa delay the process of obtaining your greencard?

Thank you so much :help::unsure:

Hello,

Getting in to the US on tourist visa and then getting married is fine but then you need to return to your home country. That is what is a legal way.

But on the other hand if you get married in the US and do have the intention to stay there and adjust status and get Green Card, ideally you should get married in the US after 90 days of your entry in the US.Otherwise you may face deportation proceedings by the Govt.

Kezzie,

Jonty is mis-applying the '30/60 day rule', in more ways than 1. It's a DoS guideline for consular officers that can be found in the FAM at 9 FAM 40.63 Notes, N4.7.

Google the Usenet newsgroup alt.visa.us.marriage-based if you want to learn more about it. Look for posters folinskyinla, mdudall, and paulgani.
