Hi there. Maybe someone can give a tip...or two. We have the AOS interview in only 29 days and the registrar county clerk sent us back the marriage license application due to a typo. We corrected and send it back, but now they're telling me that the marriage certificate will take around 7 months to get corrected and mailed. One of the items in the AOS letter is a certified copy of this document. Does anyone know if this could be a problem to get aproved? Also dou you recommed go to the interview with an immigration lawyer?

Frederick

Thanks

Did you keep the original? What kind of a mistake was it - It may not be a big deal if the typo is obvious (Our marriage cert. has two errors but they are minor - name of country misspelled and the name of our county misspelled.) We didn't get it corrected as they required us to fly to Orlando and swear to the clerk again in person (would have cost $1500 or more.) Good Luck

Did you keep copies of the letter you submitted with the document requesting its correction, and the response advising you that it will be 7 months? Perhaps you can contact them, explain your problem and ask if there is anyway to get the correction expedited - or at least return you an uncorrected version so you have it to bring to the interview. Good luck.

Hi i don't know if this will help you, i think it will .I got married at Chimney Rock, Harris County in Houston. I had to wait eight weeks for my Original Copy of marriage certificate. That was to long my Attorney needed it to process my application . . Went back and asked for a certified copy they gave it to me there then. Only cost $20.00 for three copies. Good luck.

Kath.
