Fair enough - change 'Arab' to 'terrorist' then. I have nothing against peaceful,

law-abiding Arabs, but I have a major problem with Pakistan's being a seedbed

True that they are not Arab.

But since 1972, they have tried to CLAIM a "cultural affinity" with Arabs (specifically Saudi Arabia, the largest Arab aid donor to Pakistan). As an irony, it didn't complete it by becoming a hereditary absolute monarchy nor were its rulers placed there (Abdul Aziz was made monarch by UK) by external superpower.

However, in this case it's like a petty thug CLAIMING that the Mafia contacted him and told him so...policement would NOT normally buy such a story at first-value, unless it could be verified (given Musharraf's character, as described by Benazir Bhutto, Nawaz and Shahbaz Sharif--a trio not exactly popular with Indians including myself--it isn't verifiable).

he didn't even hear it 1st hand. so it's very possible that his intel director was giving his own interpretation of the meeting, or embellishing, or even making it up. again, this is just about selling his book, got to have something controversial to generate interest in it

Oh, that's even worse--now you have at least two levels (mush + ISI chief)--one known for deception (it is not beyond him to make up the whole narrative), and the other WHOSE JOB involves deception.

I thought we'd already established that "secret", "classified" and otherwise "unverifiable" is no barrier to accepting something at face value.

It's all classified remember - if someone tells you about it, they are endangering national security ;-)
