K1 visas often don't have interviews. I didn't have an interview either. Doesn't mean your case was hard, just that they could be filling quotas and other random bureaucracy.

YAY! Isn't it weird how that little card just improves your life so much? it's just a card but everything changes... FINALLY being able to drive, FINALLY able to get a job (if you want, you don't have to), FINALLY able to leave and return without issue... Then when you get the GC you'll start to see things like competitions "Must be USC citizen or Legal permanent resident to enter" and you'll be all THAT'S MEE!!!!! Not to mention your clock for Naturalization has started (if you want to go there :D)

CONGRATS!! :D

On the top of my resume it has my address so that's fine :P I also had to go through and change stuff from Town and state (Melbourne, VIC) to Town and Country (Melbourne, AUS).

There's 3 websites I use. Monster.com is where I started but then someone told me about indeed.com. Indeed.com pulls from other job hunting sites so that's better than monster. I also go to a local job search site "just in case".

Getting my licence was one of the first things I did. Also, make sure you scan your cards/documents (front and back) in case you ever lose them. I don't carry my GC because it's too expensive too replace and it's only ever an hour from where I am. If I travel further I take it just in case. I have been meaning to print and laminate a colour copy I've just been lazy (and forgetful).

Oh hey speaking of which, if he (the Australian <3) already has a SSN and a Virginia drivers licence from the last time he was here on his J1, I know he can't work til after the AOS and all, but does that mean he also won't be able to drive? I didn't realise he would also be unable to drive when he first got here (not like thats a problem, just didn't really occur to me that would be the case).

I didn't no but I know they track them now because too many people didn't receive cards and if it's not returned to USCIS they make you pay for a new one. So it COULD be your card :D
