What color was the 221g? As far as I know, it depends on the color. Blue means AP...White means missing document.

I've been in administrative processing with a white color sheet before and they didn't ask me for any missing document

They called me after a while and told me that administrative processing done and I've been cleared and going to receive my Visa in four business days.

So white sheet not always mean missing papers.

It depends in which embassy you applying from

I think the color also depends on the consulate because our 221g was yellow

Yeah ours was white 221g and we did have to give them a document...not anything missing but something to clarify my child support... They had everything but they wanted a clear statement.. lol they didnt want to go thru the divorce/parenting info..it's def toooo much reading ;)

but we are 3 months and stilll waiting.. :(

my AP was white 221g too and i m still under processing for 7 months 2 days now & no news.

i called both uscis & nvc & they said that they didn t get my case back from us consulate for review.

is that mean the AP are at the consulate level? and are they take so long?

if your under ap...uscis and nvc wouldnt have anything to do with that...unless they sent your case back for revocation so try calling DOS instead...probably just security checks like us...

EAbbas,

One thing that I still don't fully understand is this whole deal with doing security checks during AP. Shouldn't those have been done during the USCIS phase before NOA2. We were waiting for our NOA2 for 7 months, that should have given them plenty of time to run the checks. I just don't understand what they were doing all that time.... this whole AP deal is sooooo unbelievably frustrating...

i agree with you and yes they run checks during that time but for me and my husband bcos hes from pakistan they dont do a simple name check they look into every possible check to be sure he isnt a threat...which is fine with us just wish it wouldnt take so long...My bday is in one week n our anniversary in two...Just difficult to go out on the town for a special dinner with a laptop :( just wana be with him...soon

A review is still part of AP.. AP is like an umbrella that catches everything under it like review of documents, field investigations, document verification, Request for more evidence... etc etc...

I suppose it is. My fiance's interview was on Sept. 12th.in Abu Dhabi and the officer said, "you guys submitted all the correct paperwork, interview is fine. You guys are fine, but I cannot issue you a visa today because we have additional administrative processing to do." She then continued to say, " It shouldn't take longer than a month and that to check the website for updates. She told us whenever it says it is completed to drop off the passport at 1:30 on Sunday." I guess what I am saying is regardless of missing documents we were put on AP. The website says the following when I check the status of the visa:

Application in Process

Your application for a U.S. immigrant visa is undergoing routine administrative processing. This processing can require from two weeks to several months. As soon as this processing is completed, the Embassy will post a message to this website with further instructions.

Please continue to check this website on a regular basis for updates. There is no need for you to write, email, call or fax the Embassy with queries on the case, as that will not speed processing.
