Hey guys,

I have decided to post my questions adn concernes. I have submitted the I-129F application back in April, precisely it was received on April 22, 2011 and since then i have only received a confirmation letter. Now, it has been almost five months, actually it will be five months on September 22, 2011 and i have not heard anything from USCIS. I do understand that it takes up to five months, but every thime i try to check 'my case status', it only gives me 'initial rewiev'. I have called, but according to them, they are incapable to doing anything or even of providing me with further information. I guess my question qould be if anyone found themselves in situation like mine? And another questions is: Do they have to answer either with approval or nor apprvoal within five months or can it exceed the five months period?

Any information would be good.

Thanks for your time and effort.

Some people have waited a very long time to hear anything. The case status checker is not reliable nor is the phone line attendants.

They can answer with approval with RFE or denial.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

Agree. In many cases there is no change to case status at all, so it tends to make people nervous. Its not reliable so dont worry about it.

The 5mths is flexible and depends on each case and who has your file. If they are slower, then it might mean yours is going to take a little longer.

Mar 2011 - After 5mths denied for lost docs - Attempts to follow up failed. Mar 18 2012 - I-129F sent - No sign of NOA1 but they have banked the check...Jul 24 - Update - USCIS has located our file
Infopass Apt - they sorted through everything - our 2011 and 2012 file keep getting mixed up - getting us a Case# (still waiting) Dec- Infopass Appt- expecting to get a case # in about a week ..Still no Case number

Mar 2013 Infopass - advised file was in a box somewhere, and it would be quicker for us to refile. Life gets in the way... New petition submitted July 2014 .

When I filed I waited over 8+ months after our first notification. 5 months is normal these days especially for VSC.

PM me for any AP or AR relating to the NBI
