I have read that the PICA website the only place to get a Jamaican Passport is Montego Bay or Kingston. Is this true? No other place to get a Passport in Jamaica? My fiance says you can get them in Ocho Rios as well but I can't find any info to validate that.

Also read that you can only get the Rush Next day passport in Kingston and the quickest they have in Montego Bay is 7 day? Is this true? Again my fiance tells me you can get a 3 day one in St. Ann's Bay. Need to know because he does not want to drive to Kingston to get the Nest Day Rush Passport if he can indeed get it much closer to him in St. Ann's Bay. Even Mo Bay wouldnt be bad but we need it Next day or 3 day. Not 7 day. Money isn't so much the issue as time is at this point. Thanks for you help in this matter.

Thanks,

Erica

as far as i know kingston is the only option for express but montego bay for regular...cant figure out why you guys would wait untill crunch time for passport when it is a given that this process CANNOT be completed without a valid one...

Thanks for the info. Lol, Yes we are WELL aware since day 1 a Jamaican passport is a requirement. Can't figure out why we don't have a passport for him yet. Let me spell it out for you R G D. Can't renew a passport with out a new Certified birth certificate on security paper. They told him that last September when he went to renew his passport with his origional birth cert. So he went to RGD and applied for the birth cert on 9/15/2010. 11 months later still no birth certificate. So that is why I am inquring about a rush passport so once he finally gets his birth cert we can get all the other stuff we can't get until he has a passport and a birth cert. Fun Fun! Want to talk about waiting to exhale!!! Try going through this scenerio. But I guess everyone has their own set of problems and different experiences. Definately not waiting buy choice or ignorance, rather unfortunate circumstance. I pray no one else every has to go through the hell they are putting us through at RGD. But i'm confident we will soon have it and we can look back and laugh about it.

ok... the rgd is a good reason,i'm familiar with their bs.after paying for 7 days express service for our marriage cert they too four weeks to have it ready and then sent it with incorrect spelling! (all 5 copies and all theit fault!) had me in the bathroom at work crying with frustration that day :(.

i really hope they have it ready and u guys get his pp before interview date.i did'nt take note of your interview date but i know of persons who has gotten interview dates pushed back by emailing embassy.hope u guys wont have to do this but thought knowing this will alleviate some worries it that happens...

my profile name is what it is cos we had filed k1 last year and after 4 and 1/2 months uscis made an error with our file, said they would fix it in 60 days and then proceeded to ignore us.we had to get a lawyer who said refiling would be quicker and easier than insisting they fix....soooooooo thus holding my breath :(

goodluck with the pp and interview.

Dam girl! That's a heck of a story too! I'm sorry all that has happened. Hopefully you will get through soon. I feel for you. So you origionally filed K1, then when that got messed up you did i130F? Are you from Jamaica or is your husband? What part of Jamaica? I'm not worried too much about not getting the stuff in time for the interview bcus they dont set the interview until we return the DS230 part 1 signed, so we arent returning that at least until he has his birht cert in hand. Which hopfully bearing all goes well with RGD next week. But we shall see. I just found out he has to get a court record too so hopefully that is a quick process. But you never know even with a quick process. Seems like it is always something. I could go on and on, but I won't get into all that! Good luck to you :)

I just wanted to highlight this statement, b/c when I informed another poster of this fact on another post, there were postesr who stated that they knew of people recently that were issued BC's using their old copies of BC. I feel better now that this wasn't just being applied to my relatives in Kingston.

Oh wow! The plot thickens! You think you will make it over here before you deliver? What part of Florida does your hubby live in? Me and my fiance want to move to Florida once he gets here (to help me with the moving!) I think he will like the weather and Florida the best and I have always wanted to live there. I was thinkn Orlando area. I know alot of Jamaicans live in Florida, but I'm not sure what part. I want him to feel comfortable over here. You know? Plus he is a lifeguard so I figure he will have the best job opportunity in FL.

What a coincidence you work at a Courthouse. I do believe his offence was in St. Ann though. Can you pull anything from there? How long does it take to get a certified court record? I think I am going to have him get it even if it isn't needed. Just in case. It was for No insurance. How much does the certified court record cost as well? We got in a major fight about it last night bcus I told him to go get it today but he said he will on Monday cuz the lines are so long. I was like i dont care how long the lines are!!!! Any info you can give me on the court stuff would be greatly appreciated.

Have a nice Friday,

Erica

haha! yes the plot thickens! :) he lives in orlando actually,i've never been but i'm told alot of similarutes with jamaica.

the most i could do in st ann would be make some calls and smooth out process for him.but a police record is mandatory right?he has to apply for that at the criminals record office (cro) in kingston.so my understanding is if it comes up on the police record then they at the cro would send him to relevant courts office for court record.if it does'nt show up on police record then no problem (which it wont cos traffic offences are not recorded in jamaica)...so the first step is appling at the crminal's record office and take it from there. since there is an issue abt a possible record you guys should get on it asap cos the buearacracy in jamaica is slo-ow!

Oh wow another coincidence! maybe one day we will all live there! He can't get in Police Cert until he has a passport, which he can't renew till he has the birth cert. So our hands are tied until his Birth cert finally gets processed. Should hopefully be done next week and he should have some good news on it today. The BC has been such a hold up cuz we cant do anything without it. It's a long crazy story. But when you say CRO in Kingston that is the place one would go for the Police cert right? Does he get a copy of the police cert to see what is on it? I know that is why I told him just go get the darn court record now. This is soooo stressful, no idea how you are doing it pregnant with an alomost 2 year old!!! Now I fully understand your screen name. My fiance has a 3 and 7 year old, but I dont have any yet. We are trying for one! makes it hard with him over there tho! lol

Yes that is the certificate that says he was never married. Savlamar is in Westmoreland about 30 minutes from Negril.

Did you look at the link I posted? It tells you exactly where you can apply for expedite and how long it (should) take.

He will have to get the police certificate first @ Duke St. in Kingston. Once he gets that, if there is anything on it (and I am thinking an insurance ticket would not be  ) then he will go upstairs @ Duke St. and will request a white slip, mi cyaan remember what it name, and take it to the local court house for the court records.

Praying things pick up for you. Remember the K1 has an expire date, so you don't want to wait too long to turn in the Ds230 (F)

Thanks for all the info JAPrincess! We are jsut trying to wait until he has birth cert in hand which fingers crossed should be next week (hopefully) Then we will turn in DS230 pt 1. Our priority expiration on NOA 2 says 11/22/11. Does that mean he has to be in USA by then or just have the interview date set before then?
