Medical in London

My fiance will be going to London next Thursday for his medical. Is there anything in particular that we need to know or be aware of? I'm also wondering exactly what forms or documentation he needs to take with him.

Also a copy of all jabs from his GP.

Thanks. We have this form, plus a list of his vaccinations, as well as his police certificate. I just wondered if there is anything else that we need.

OK...I just found a list on the website http://photos.state.gov/libraries/unitedkingdom/164203/cons-visa/iv_medical_letter.pdf.

Basically, it looks like he will need his passport, driver's license, 1 passport photo, the medical questionnaire and his vaccination records.

Is there anything else that I might be missing???

HI,

Had my medical in london 3 weeks ago. Its straight forward enough,

Copy of police certificate ( you will get this back )

1 Passport photo ( if going to the US get a set of 4 2inch by 2inch will work out cheaper)

Valid Passport ( you may or may not be asked for another form of identification so take it anyway )

Filled in medical questionaire from the web link ( There is another to fill in when there while waiting too ).

jabs records if any

Medical steps.

Dont arrive too early you will only have to wait

1 see the nurse ( review jabs had and needed - the chikenpox one isnt needed if youve already had chikenpox )

you can get the jabs there if needed.

2 then from the nurse into the x-ray room for a chest x-ray, then back to the waiting room.

3 in to see the doc who checks your forms then does weight hight and eye test. then onto the bed for body exam and blood test (ouch)if its the polish doc lol.

Then they take your money give you your paperwork and you go home.

They will contact you if anything is found medical wise within a couple of days. If not then all the paperwork is sent to the embassy in about 5 working days. If going to the US its a 7 week wait from when they recieve your 2001 readyness form before any interviews are arranged.

Thank you Dannynsami and Darren. Both of your posts were extremely helpful!! I have passed on the information to my fiance and he sounded much more at easy about going to the medical on Thursday. Thank you so, so much!!!
