You know, I lived right down the street from where Mark Duggan was shot (on the bridge near my train station) and one of the retail parks that was burned down was where I used to buy most of my groceries. Being fairly familiar with the social dynamics of the local area, I can tell you that white people and black people for the most part do not have a problem getting along and live amongst each other and are often married to each other - it's not segregated the way it would be in a US city. Racial dynamics are simply different there - talking about Marion Barry and Barack Obama doesn't reveal some kind of politically correct "truth" it just shows how little you know about British society.

The riots have spread a bit beyond Tottenham, kip... Beyond London even.

As I said, the events that have taken place this week are not motivated by racial tension

Once again, I'll remind you, someone disagreeing with you doesn't mean they're uneducated. If they don't seek to understand your position that doesn't mean they don't know or understand your side, it could mean, very simply, that they disagree with you.
