As for a co-sponsor, He said something about it, but when I sent the message 10 minutes ago, I was talking to her, not him. He is from California, now living in Washington State.I don't know if he has any friends who would be willing, because as I remmember from my papers, the sponsor would be making a 10 year commitment to sponsor, and that is asking a lot.As for family, they are 1000 miles away in California, but I will mention it to them.Thanks, Bill

Co-sponsor need not be from the same state. All they have to do is read the I-864 form and instructions where it details their responsibilitiy.

Also, if the spouse and the oldest child will start working once they receive EADs or GCs, that takes away some threat level to the co-sponsor. Besides, until they have been LPR for 5 years or more they would not qualify for majority of means-tested benefits.

Hopefully the spouse and children can get naturalized in 3 -5 years thus voiding the I-864.

Milimelo, Thanks for your responses. As you can see, there are many twists and turns on this case, that was why I was turning to you knowledgable people on the VJ website. I know what I had to do on my K1 visa, but this is way more complex than mine, and of course, I only get bits and pieces of the puzzle at a time. Nobody want to tell someone all the problems with their application.They just ask 1 problem at a time. Thanks again. I think they are reading this post, as I gave them the website address yesterday.
