My wife and I are about to start our CR-1 process. Now around the time when my wife and I got married we may have conceived our first child. Is there a way to expedite the process so she can be here throughout the pregnancy? Any help and advise would be much appreciated. Thanks

September 10, 2009: Arrived for first meeting in-person!
June 17, 2010: Arrived for second in-person meeting and start of travel together to other areas of China!
June 21, 2010: Engaged!!!
September 1, 2010: Switched course from K1 to CR-1
December 8, 2010: Wedding date set; it will be on February 18, 2011!
February 9, 2011: Depart for China
February 11, 2011: Registered for marriage in Wuhan, officially married!!!
February 18, 2011: Wedding ceremony in Shiyan!!!
April 22, 2011: Mailed I-130 to Chicago
April 28, 2011: Received NOA1 via text/email, file routed to CSC (priority date April 25th)

Sorry but no. Considering you haven't filed yet, she won't be in the USA for the birth either, because Montreal is backlogged with giving visa interviews, so be prepared for the pregnancy and birth to happen in Canada. Once the baby is born, you will need to file CRBA (consular record of birth abroad) to give him/ her a US passport.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

unfortunately not i've been looking after our son for about 7 months all by myself. i wish it would help my child hasn't been able to spend much time with his dad.

Aw that sucks. But then it shows that your love for each other is strong enough to go through all of this. If I may ask, what was your RFE about? I'm so afraid to get one...

If you are really lucky maybe she will have it in Canada, think of the cost savings! In the usa it costs about $2,000 or more total and insurance won't cover very much of it . So hopefully you guys can have the child in Canada, be very thankful for being able to live in such a great country such as Canada

Thank you :) But being in Canada or in the US does not matter to me... it's great either way as i'm not planning to give birth in an hospital. So we save on that at least haha

our RFE was bc my husband wrote on our passport pics in pen and they lost our marriage certificate i'm guessing they wanted another copy and yes we would do anything for each other my husband has been trying everything to try to get us home. we were glad that he could visit at least every 2nd weekend.not anymore though he got stationed across the country i'm just glad we got our noa2 i hope it goes smoother from here

Oh no. We also wrote in pen on the back of our passport pics. I'm worried now :/ What were we supposed to do? I think the worse and longest part of your process is over now that you are at the NVC... i'm saying that but considering Montreal is backlogged on interviews, i might be wrong :/ But i wish you the best of luck. I know how much it sucks to be apart from your husband and with a child, i cannot even imagine.

youre suppose to write in pencil i think lots of ppl do that since they dont tell you. the crappy part is the money if we have to do the interview we just don't have were already financially struggling because we have a new baby, were buying groceries for 2 households and my husband is still paying off his truck ect i'm just hoping if it comes down to it he can get a loan from the coast guard again i don't know since were still paying off the other one. i heard they are i'm surprised Canadians arent big on moving to the states :P good luck to you as well i know it's hard stay strong
