Very small International Marriage Broker operation dealing only with Ecuador. In my first phone conversation with her (at $1 per hour), she said, in her rusty English, "T-B., whatever happens between us, promise me one thing: Please don't ever lie to me." This was the polar opposite of the attitudes of the psycho U.S. whackettes that I'd sworn off. I thought distinctly, "This could be the final Mrs. T-B., si man." And, so far, she is, si man.

Yesterday, she told me, "I bought you cheap." While probably true, it really meant "I went to the supermarket and bought chips for you," si man.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

There are some really cool stories here. I also never realized sooo many people met online. I am in the Navy, and was on assignment in Ethiopia while in the middle of a Divorce with my Ex, and was set up on a blind date with my current Fiance. I wasn't looking for a relationship and neither was she. I was with a group of military(Navy and Army)friends who were going out to meet some girls from the night before(who I thought were prostitutes), wanted nothing to do with that, and almost stayed at our team house. Later I found out that her friends tricked her, and she did not know guys were coming over. When we first met, the group of us had some wine, I said "Wow, I like this stuff". She said "You don't know what you are talking about, it is cheap and lousy". That was all we said to each other for about 3 hours. At one point she got up and left, not wanting to be there. Her Friend(who tricked her into coming over by saying it was a coffee ceremony) went and begged her to come back, just for 1 evening.

All 6 of us went out, had a couple drinks, she started talking, we all laughed and had a good time. I told her "Don't worry, I am not looking for anyone right now, trying to fix things with my wife and I have kids. I just want a friend to hang with for a couple months. She was like "I have all the guy Friends I need". And she did too. But not intimate. Long story short, both of us were hiding behind "we aren't interested in a relationship", we let our guard down, and the rest is History. She has more Character, integrity, and loyalty then any woman I have ever met. And is Beautiful too. So 3.5 months later, the day before I left Ethiopia, I proposed, and she Accepted.

I got a picture in my mind of you sitting in prison and chating on the computer  . I just kept going till a few posts later someone said "penpal"

Hahaha, I did the exact same thing!

Stuart and I met on a game called Evony that had a chat feature. I was host of an alliance and he was in an enemy alliance that I was doing some diplomacy with but we weren't really talking a lot. One night a friend of mine was being chewed out on the global chat and he jumped to her defence. I thanked him, and we chatted for a while. We kept talking every day, and exchanged Facebook and phone numbers. Our first phone bill was two thousand dollars. (yeah, he still shoots himself over that one, and now has a plan) I went to California for a week with a girlfriend, and didn't talk to him for a week, and really, really missed him. He kept saying things like "that's why I love you," and "love you babe" on the phone, very nonchalant, and I asked him, point blank, "do you?"

Silence. Complete and utter silence and just when I thought I had ruined it, he said, "yes, I do, I really do." We made plans to meet in person later that same month, and it was everything I could have ever hoped for and dreamed of.

I always said that all the good guys were either gay or taken, little did I realise that some of them just live impossibly far away!

We met because we lived right across the street from each other. I lived there for about a year and never noticed him until one day he was outside playing soccer with a kid similar in age to my son (who was 3 at the time). My son wanted to go over a play and so we walked across the street and while the two boys played, the guy and I started chatting and never stopped! He's a great dad to my son (who's real dad left when he was 2) and now we have a 2 year old son together. It was the best move I ever made.

05/23/2008: First met

04/03/2009: Had our son

07/26/2011: Mailed off I-129F

08/01/2011: Received NOA1 dated August 1

Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between December 16, 2011 and December 21, 2011*.

We met when his family moved to NZ when we were kids. We were at the same school together for 4 years. Later he moved away and we went to different high schools, but kept in contact. We lost contact when he returned to live in the US. We had both started travelling in our late teens and without knowing we have since discovered we travelled a lot of the same roads in the US and Canada at the same time. We have since both been married and had kids and we finally met up again online in 2009. We chatted and skyped every day for hours at the end of each working day and all weekend for 5 months before I flew to the US so we could meet up again.

Mar 2011 - After 5mths denied for lost docs - Attempts to follow up failed. Mar 18 2012 - I-129F sent - No sign of NOA1 but they have banked the check...Jul 24 - Update - USCIS has located our file
Infopass Apt - they sorted through everything - our 2011 and 2012 file keep getting mixed up - getting us a Case# (still waiting) Dec- Infopass Appt- expecting to get a case # in about a week ..Still no Case number

Mar 2013 Infopass - advised file was in a box somewhere, and it would be quicker for us to refile. Life gets in the way... New petition submitted July 2014 .
