I am trying to petition my Dad and my stepmother to the US. I have a couple questions while filling out I-130.

1. On the form, it asks about my marital status. I am going to register to get marry next month, but I am going to file before that. Do I put myself as married or single on the form when I file?

2. On the form, it asks about my Dad and my stepmother's address and work addresses. They both live in China now. Can I put their address and work addresses in Chinese?

Thank you.

Are you a US citizen at least 21 years old? If so then you can petition for your dad. You can only petition for your step-mother if your dad married her before you were 18 years old. Otherwise, your dad will have to petition for your step-mother after he comes to the US and gets a green card.

Give the address using English/Roman text - that's the only way USCIS can enter the information into their computers. You can write their name and address in Chinese on line 20 of the I-130. You need a separate I-130 petition for each parent. The process is described here:

12/15/2009 - K1 Visa Interview - APPROVED!

12/29/2009 - Married in Oakland, CA!

08/18/2010 - AOS Interview - APPROVED!

05/01/2013 - Removal of Conditions - APPROVED!

I see. Thank you. So do I file as single or married for my own information?

So is it going to affect the whole process?

No. Whether you're single or married is not relevant. It will only affect your household size for the affidavit of support.
